    Xbox One Cable Box Power Control - Toggle vs On/Off


    I own two Xbox One devices. One I've been using since launch, and the other I just bought recently. I am trying to get them to be parallel in settings.

    When I turn off my Xbox One, I want the TV, Sound Bar, and Comcast XFINITY XG1-P cable box to all power down as well. This was working on my original device.

    While trying to setup my second Xbox One, I found I could not set the cable box power setting to power off and power on ... it only allows for the toggle setting (which I do not want). I want my Xbox One to handle discrete control to ensure the cable box
    is in the correct state when the Xbox One in on. I could not make the second device to mirror the settings and behavior of my first device.

    While tinkering with my first device (checking deeper on the remote code), I verified the C1982 was matching. I also reconfirmed all the other codes while I was in there. After doing THAT, now my original Xbox One device does not allow the discrete on and
    off!

    So ... it was working just fine until an hour ago. It seems something changed logically. I know that technically this can be done, so it seems this is a feature change or a bug. I want the discrete control back ... fix the bug or restore the feature. I am
    willing to walk though my experience with Xbox One folks to help narrow down the error.

    Denon AVR-1507 can't turn on or off but mute and volume commands work

    I have tried those codes and several others.

    Several are able to control volume and mute, but none is able to turn the system on or off. I've also tried toggle vs on / off for each code.

    My Xbox One is sending power information to the TV and the cable box, and both are turning on and off as expected.

    Marantz SR7000: One sends double power toggle during power off

    I have a Marantz SR7000 and have the One configured to control power for my TV, cable box, and receiver. Every time I turn off the One it will send two power toggle signals to the receiver. So the TV and cable box shut off, but the SR7000 turns of, then
    immediately back on.

    NOTE: if the receiver is off, the One power down will turn it on, then immediately back off. This is how I know it's a power toggle signal being sent, and two of them.

    Has anyone else had this problem?

    Harmony Remote support with Xbox One?

    Okay so set my Harmony Ultimate to work with the Xbox One and it does work very well. I just had to toggle off the ability for the Xbox One to power on/off my TV, receiver, and cable box. Of course when it comes to DVR control it is a bit limiting, putting
    the cable box direction arrows on the screen makes it a bit awkward so I find it easier just to bring up the cable box device when using the DVR.

    @caprocasicks at least on my tv it's a separate command for on vs off. on my harmony remote I can go and hit on when its on or off when its off and it doesn't act like a power toggle.

    @rustlebot the only thing not checked under my power setting is that the off command doesn't turn off my cable box. all the others are on.

    Specifically it is cable box setting that is important. The AVR can turn on and off as long as the cable box is not setup to toggle or turn on or off.
