Xbox One Buzzing Noise (not from Power Brick)

Hello All,

Within the last day or so, I have noticed that there is a minute, low buzzing noise coming from the vents of the Xbox One itself (not from the Power Brick). The best description I can give for the noise is that the buzzing sounds a bit like a mosquito.

Assuming I do not have an insect infestation in my Xbox One, any ideas on what this could be?

(FYI: I do have my Xbox One plugged into a power strip; I only discovered this morning via researching on the web that it should be plugged into a wall outlet).

buzzing noise...

Have you checked the power brick for buzzing? My Xbox 360 250GB Slim has a slight buzzing from the power supply occasionally.

Power Brick Buzzing Noise

Hi LordNyax360,

A buzzing sound from the Power Supply is definitely not normal. Does it make the noise when you have it in your hand, or is it vibrating against something? I would recommend unplugged the power supply for a few minutes and then plugging it back in to see
if the noise persists. If the noise goes away after unplugging it, the power supplies fans stay on for instant on mode. So one thing to try is to change your power settings to "energy saving mode".

If none of these resolve the issue, it could be a bad fan or something of that nature. You can either one just let the power supply go knowing there will be a bit of a buzz or you could submit a repair request for it. If the console is not under warranty
any more, then you will need to purchase a new power supply for this which you can do using the site below. The price is actually fairly inexpensive. I'm not looking at the repair site, but I
think it's about 35.00.

hey terry! You could try a hard reset by holding the power button on the front of the console until it shuts off then unplug the power brick from the console and the outlet or power strip for a minute then plug everything back in and power back on to see
if the issue is resolved.

I also like to clean the vents on my xbox every month by taking my vacuum hose and clean out all of the vents on my console. Hope this helps!

Yes just the one game and the power brick makes a buzzing noise

yeah the light turned red, the new ones seems to be working great, but is it normal to hear a faint buzzing noise? from the fan inside the power brick?

I tried unplugging it for a few minutes and plugged it back in. The brick was quiet until I started up the console again and when I shut it off. I use the instant on mode with my kinect, one of the features that convinced me to buy my xbox. It is still doing
the same thing. I am still under warranty, I'd rather not shell out $35 if I could get it fixed for free. I'll be near a microsoft store in a few weeks, would it be possible to get a replacement brick there if I brought mine in?
