XBOX One Broken Hard Drive

There is already ways to transfer to different hard drives if both are working on the storage settings on xbox one.

I have had problems with a broken hard drive before, There isn't away to transfer data if the drive is broken so a long reinstall process is whats needed to be done if they broken.

There's no point in switching hard drives from your broken original Xbox to the Xbox One S. If you want more storage space simply buy an external hard drive.

Your only option is to contact Support in your region. Any discussion of self-repair is not permitted on the forums. I will add that since you have already opened the console, you have voided any warranty you may have had on the unit.

just formatted my hard drive and its still saying unformatted i think my hard drive is broken and needs replacing

if i buy a new hard drive or Xbox do i need a data transfer cable to transfer from hard drive to hard drive?

You only need the hard drive from the broken console, not the console itself. So unless it's the hard drive that's actually broken, you should have no issues.
