XBOX ONE broke my a/v receiver.

I buyed XBOX ONE with Quantum break and Alan Wake download codes. I have Sony PS4 also. Both consoles were plugged in my Onkyo TX-NR414 receiver. At first i couldnt get Sound with my XBOX but it worked fine after few reboots. I played Quantum break to last
act and sound worked some times and sometimes had to reboot. Same thing started to happen my PS4 after few days i used ONE in that receiver. Then the worst happened, my Onkyo started to shut by it self. I decided to send my XBOX to warranty service. My Onkyo
died. That very same XBOX was in my TV too before i sended it to service and my tv started to fail HDMI handshake with both consoles. Along that two or three weeks when XBOX was in service, my PS4 worked great with my Samsung UE55H8005 tv set. Today i got
my XBOX back but there were no maintenance report, why? So far everything works fine. Havent played anything yet because i have to dl quantum break again and it is huge, no complains about that. But fingers crossed, i wish so much that XBOX wont kill my tv
set too. Onkyo is lost, no power after few seconds. Will Microsoft warranty cover my Onkyo or do i have to buy new receiver? It is almost impossiple to reach right person to ansver my warranty related question or tell maintanence report.

Anyone else had this sort of problem with ONE and a/v receivers or tv sets?

Can You Give Kinect A Voice Command To Switch To a Particular Channel? Also, A/V Receiver Question.

So let me get this straight... I have an A/V receiver, an Xbox 360, and a cable box. If I plug my cable box into an Xbox One, and then both the Xbox One AND my Xbox 360 into my A/V receiver and then my A/V receiver into my TV will I be able to turn my 360
on as well as my A/V receiver and TV with a voice command? I know this was pretty much answered with the comment that it can perform as a universal remote.. I just wanted to be specific about my current setup.

Its not one that supports HDMI and my optic is broke.

 

It sound like your a/v receiver was a pile of junk, you stated it acted up with your PS4.

The Xbox 1 is connected to my TV via and HDMI cable...... not sure how that can pile up any electronics. As for your receiver you clearly state that your PS4 was hooked up to it to.... and no, they wont warranty it.

 

Receiver worked great with ps4 since ps4 was released. Problems started when i hooked up xbox. And setup was like both consoles were jacked to receiver and receiver to tv set. As we all know, there is +5V in HDMI cable. My guess is that xbox gave more than
those +5V voltage.

ps. it was four yrs old receiver and not highend but that doesent mean it wasnt any good.

You are right Bray4ever8. Not to judge xbox. It has worked fine now. Plugged it to another tv just to be sure my main tv dont die. This topic can close now.

Seems to me like your Onkyo Receiver is the problem. Start a warranty claim with them.

Connected devices won't kill an AV receiver and Onkyo are well known for shutting down after a few seconds.

Buy cheap buy twice.
