Xbox One brightness decreased? Help needed

I was just watching Twitch and apparently it happened. I didn't even notice it until I exited Twitch. My home screen and everything too. I tried power cycling and messing around with the settings, and it shouldn't be my TV or HDMI cable/ports. Having the
Xbox One on also makes features of the TV lose brightness (i.e the menu). Is it a power issue? Is it an issue with the Xbox One or the TV? I'm not sure. Google isn't any help and I can't do anything on the Xbox One because it strains my eyes. What do I do?

Need help with Xbox one or monitor settings

i have been playing the Xbox one on my computer monitor and for some reason the screen is really bright and white. While playing call of duty it is very hard to see people in the distance because it is dark and up close is white. My brightness is around 30 and my contrast is around 80. I have played with these settings and nothing seems too work. I have calibrated the monitor with my Xbox as well as my computer and still nothing works. Any suggestions?

The xbox doesnt have a brightness adjust setting. The games that you play however do. So I would either check the brightness on your TV or even check the brightness within the game your playing.

 

This is mainly caused by your tv so check if there is a dimming effect caused by some "ambient light sensor" or the "dynamic contrast". Turn this setting off if it and also calibrate the brightness on your tv under normal conditions.

 

Why would that only be an issue now? Nothing's changed whatsoever. It happened as I was on my Xbox.

 

Coincidence is the main reason of everything that "seemingly" lacks causality. If you pass most of the time in front of tv while using xbox one console is normal that you will notice the change under such circumstances.

Try to check your tv settings as I stated above.

 

Ok so we figured it out. You were kinda right, but also kinda wrong. Well uh, apparently something happened with the power yesterday and I didn't notice and the TV went into some kind of power saving mode. We fixed it. So you were right about it being the
TV just not in that way. Thank you for your help though!

 

I was having the same issue but it only happened for about 30 seconds while watching youtube and it returned to normal. Does seem strange. Random question OP, what brand of tv do you use with your xbox? I ask because a family member was having the issue
and we both have a samsung smart tv. Probably unrelated but just working on getting as many pieces of the puzzle as possible.

 

Try going to Home > Settings > All Settings > Display and Sound > Video Output

Then, make sure the TV resolution is compatible with your TV. If not, hit on Calibrate.

stupid power-saving mode.
