    For the life of me I cannot get the blue ray disk to play in anything but 480i

    Well the xbox one include 3D blu ray

    @dude, I think they say that cause your not allowed to comment about future hardware the other person may have not known and said it out. but lets all ask our selfs this...a blu-ray player plays blu-rays regular or 3D why would Xbox one will be to only Blu-ray
    player on the planet that plays regular blu-ray? regular blu-ray and 3D blu-rays use the same disc fame format just written diffrently on the disc but both can be picked up by the same laser, yes yes, and yes It plays 3D movies and games Xbox One Blue-Ray only plays 480i :)

    Component cables can push a 1080p signal but all newer Blu-Ray players will either only accept HDMI for content protected material or if it plays it at all through component it is scaled down to 480i.

    yes the Xbox one comes with blue-ray built in. and will play blue-rays and regular dvd's.

    It seems to be a common problem with certain 4K UHD Blue Ray disks on the Xbox One and Series X.

    My Xbox One X refuses to play certain 4K UHD Blue Ray disks as well and I know it's not the disks that's causing the problem as they play on my stand alone 4K Blue Ray player.

    Xbox One issues after 07.02.16 update

    My Xbox one is no longer playing sound from Blue-Rays. It plays TV sound and will continue to play TV sound while Blue-Ray picture is running. This is since the latest update. I tried turning off the TV source then I have no sound. I restarted Xbox one twice
    but no help.
