My Blu-ray player app won't install. It will get to 100% and then it will say installation stopped. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing twice and have power cycled my console once. Any other suggestions?

The Blu-ray player app allows you to enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies available in your region through your Xbox One console.

Note When you insert a disc for the first time, you’ll see a prompt to install the player app. For more information, see Set up and install

    Hey there Bookem314!

Sorry to hear about the install issue! If you haven't already, try disconnecting from internet and launch the Blu-ray app. If it opens, go ahead and connect back online and see if that pushes the update through.

    • Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select Network.
    • In the Network screen, select 'Disconnect wireless' (if you're wired, unplug ethernet cable as well).
    • Once you're offline, try opening the Blu-ray player app. If it opens, connect back to your internet and see if everything pushes through.
Follow the steps above and let us know if it helps! Xbox One Blu-ray player app not installing. :D

I am having this same exact issue! My Blu-ray player has worked fine ever since I got my XBOX, but when turned on my XBOX this morning, I saw that it was in my game and apps queue stating that installation had stopped...???

I did exactly what the original poster did, but have had no success...I am at work now, so I will try and disconnect wireless and see if that helps when I get home for lunch.

Mine won't install either. This isn't normal as this has never happened to other apps. The Blu ray app gets to 100% install then says installation Stopped. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, power cycled and a combination of the two.

This may have something to do with the OS update they are pushing today which i haven't recieved yet. Hopefully it works after that but this is terrible because if I'm not playing games I'm watching Blu rays. Please help us fix this bug

Xbox One Blu-ray player app not installing.

Well, I'm having the exact same problem myself. My Xbox One is brand new and I can't even get the Blu-Ray App to function properly. Everytime I try downloading the App, it says 'Installation Stopped' at 100 percent.

I've tried ENDLESSLY to "Uninstall" and "Reinstall this Blu-Ray App and nothing seems to work. I'm afraid I might have to perform a 'Factory Reset' with the Storage, but that will erase all the personal content on my console.

Why you even need to download an App for simple features like this is truly mind-boggling. I've been trying to rectify this situation all morning, but to no avail. Seriously, the Xbox One and Dashboard are severly dumbed-down in features compared to the
    360.

Everyone, I found a fix. All that was needed to fix this Blu-Ray problem was downloading the recent Update - which of course, my console did a lousy job of informing me of any such thing this morning.

After doing some research, I realized this recent Dash Update was today, but my Xbox One didn't even ask to download anything. Funny, because my 360 ALWAYS prompted me with a Update whenever it was available. In fact, I couldn't sign into Xbox Live until
the most recent Update was applied.

Anyhow, the Blu-Ray App downloaded just fine once the new OS was updated... thank goodness. Sheesh, I literally spent HOURS this morning dealing with such a random debacle.

  12. Hey, guys! This thread is almost a year old, however snoogans460 is correct. Please make sure your console is fully updated and then try to launch the app again. This should resolve any updating issues with the app you are running into. If you are still
seeing issues after updating your console, please post up a new thread detailing what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This way our community can get you the individual support that works best on the forums. Xbox One Blu-ray player app not installing. :)
