  1. XBOX One Blu-ray drive issue

It appears that the Blu-ray drive in the XBOX One might have some issues, as I have seen this problem on all three XBOX One consoles in my house. The game will not launch (even after restarting the console) unless you eject the disc and reinsert it
into the console. The drive is apparently not detecting that the game is there, or it is not spinning up when it is powered up... or it could be something else.

At any rate, I have to get up and walk across the room to fix the problem and I should never have to do that. The console should work properly without needing to have discs removed and reinserted. I have also had other friends with XBOX One consoles mention
this same issue, so it is not isolated to the three that are in my house.

I cannot get the image of the problem to upload. Please see the picture here: http://.com/?p=273

    :)

Xbox One S pre-orders 'off to an amazing start'

Ya that 4k blu-ray player is a must have for 4k enthusiasts. Fact is even 4k streaming like netflix cant produce the same quality as a 4k blu ray. And on top of it the only other true 4k blu-ray costs at least 350 bucks. The reason for the high cost is because it needs a good proccessor in it, and that is something the xbox one has!

Im still kinda surprised we didnt see a slim without a bluray drive, or in other words an all digital xbox. Maybe within a year? Maybe the scorpio wont have a blu-ray drive? Hmmmm

  4. XBOX One Blu-ray drive issue

    I found this article:
    support.xbox.com/.../disc-error

I have not heard any grinding noises on any of the consoles and the problem is resolved immediately by ejecting the disc and reinserting it.

I have this same issue. If you insert the disc when the console gets turned on, you get an unrecognized disc error. When you eject and reinsert the disc when the console is at the home screen, it loads properly. Same with blu-ray movies. You have to
fire up the blu ray player app for the drive to recognize the disc, although this will occasionally work from the home screen as wel

If possible, please UNPLUG your console! Wait around 5 minutes. Then turn it ON again. It should fix your problem.

If not, you should contact Microsoft support! And if they cannot find any other solution for you to fix your problem they will help you swap Xbox One console.

Also if your problems started after March update, please mention it to support. Then they will route original console to the hardware team to investigate that problem.

I seem to have resolved the issue be removing and reinstalling my profile.

    1. Go to the dashboard.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Sign-in, Security, & Passkey
    4. Select Remove me from this Xbox
    5. Restart the console
    6. Log in with your email and password
    This will re-install your profile

I have tried multiple discs since doing this and the problem has not reoccured.

  9. I seem to have a prob with my disk drive but it doesn't happen all the time, where I just finished playing a game, I exit out and eject the *** it comes out and sucks it back in, I re eject it and then put the other game in, and then it tells me the disk
is ether unclean or damaged yet the disk is mint.. I put the other game back in and same thing, so I have to eject the game, and then cycling it and after that put a game in and it works fine, so im not sure why this is going on but its starting to bother
    me.

  10. Vamp: Mine was doing that very thing too! The profile removal/reinstall seems to have fixed it. Give that a shot and let us all know if it works for you, please.

  11. UPDATE: This does NOT fix the problem permanently. The problem has come back after a couple of weeks.

THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX/WORKAROUND AND IT WILL NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

  14. When the console draws the disc back in wait 30 second the disc drive will wake up and read that disc once it does swap out the disc. Works 100% of the time. As far as preview inf please look here.

Xbox One X recognizes no backwards compatible 360-disc / triggers no download

    Hi,

Sounds like the laser in your console's Blu-ray drive has a hardware issue.

To test if your Xbox One X has issues reading discs, try playing a DVD movie disc. If can't read DVD movie discs either then your console has a hardware fault.

Note: It must be a DVD movie disc, not a Blu-ray movie disc.

There are two lasers in the Blu-ray drive, one for reading Blu-ray discs and one for DVD discs. Xbox One games use Blu-ray and the 360 console used a DVD drive.

    Lip-Sync issues playing DVD/BLU-RAY

I have tried everything listed in the forums not that I should have to do anything apart from put a Dvd/Blu Ray into the Xbox and press play. I'm not the only person experiencing this issue, if you scour the forums you will find many.

I look forward to a solution as this is one of the reasons I bought the Xbox one. Is it actually a Blu Ray drive or a normal drive with a Blu Ray app to turn it into a sub standard Blu Ray drive ?

Xbox One X only reads XB1 game dvds

    Hi,

The optical drive in the Xbox One is a Blu-ray drive. Xbox One discs are on Blu-ray disc, same as HD Blu-ray movies. Xbox 360 games came on DVD disc.

Oversimplifying my explanation a little, the Xbox One has separate lasers for reading DVD discs than it does for reading Xbox One blu-ray discs.

The laser that is used to read DVD's has failed. This isn't a software issue, it's a hardware one. Unfortunately you can't fix this yourself, you'll need your console repaired. Sorry.

Xbox 1 games won’t work on my Series X

The drive contains separate lasers for the DVD and Blu-ray disc reading. Xbox one titles are on Blu-ray, while the others are on DVD. Please try a Blu-ray movie in the drive and see if it works

    0x8082000c, Can't play Xbox 360 Games

    Hi,

Verify that your consoles drive is functioning. Try playing a DVD movie disc, not a Blu-ray disc.

If your console will not play DVD then the drive has hardware fault.

There are two lasers in the blu-ray drive. One for reading DVD and Xbox 360 games and another for Xbox One and Blu-ray discs.
