Xbox One Blank Screen

Here is my issue:

I have just about one of the oldest Xbox Ones you could get without having the Day One Edition and I am now experiencing issues with the device. The hardware seemed to run just fine, although it has always been very loud, but a couple days ago, I went to
turn on my Xbox and after seeing the green loading screen, it just disappeared and went blank. I left this on for about 15 minutes seeing if it just had to load or update, but nothing happened. Now this happens every time I turn the console on and it is unusable
in every way. I have checked everything it could be: I unplugged and replugged all power cables in again and made sure the connections were good; I adjusted the HDMI cable, moved ports, and tried a different cable all together; and even tried the Xbox on a
different TV.

I tried to contact Xbox Support, but was never successful for some reason. I did talk to an Xbox Ambassador though and they recommended I try doing an offline system update. Seeing as this process seems difficult, I figured I would post and see if anyone
else had this issue or had other recommendations on how I could fix my issue because I REALLY just want to play my Battlefield 1 again. These forums are my last hope.

I remember this issue being an old bug that had been fixed with updates. Have you updated your console? If you are in the beta program this could be an error with the software and you would need to report this bug. If your not in the beta program I suggest clearing the cache which instructions can be found via bing/google.

Do you think it would be smarter to do a factory reset first, or should I jump straight to an offline update? I already downloaded the offline update onto a USB drive, but I'm nervous I might mess something up since I'm not the most "software" savvy and
a factory reset (while keeping all of my games) seems safer.

 

The suggestion of the previous fellow ambassador you spoke with is the best way to solve this issue. Applying the offline update through usb seems complicated yet is explained step by step here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution

There is now a new issue... I downloaded the Offline System Update and began updating my Xbox with the new USB drive. I have tried this twice now, and both times, the download has stopped at 69% complete when Applying the update. Any way to resolve this?

 

In case anyone cares:

I resolved my issue by just doing a factory reset and keeping the previously downloaded games. I did this all without the help of Xbox Support, so that's nice. Big shout out to the Ambassador people though, they helped a lot!
