Xbox One - Blank Screen after Xbox Loading Screen

I'm trying this, but no luck yet, completed but no shutdown/on sound so left USB stick in, continued loading and stopped at 3/4 way through, waited 10 and powered off, trying again and will pull after first reboot

 

I have seen this work for a few people with the same issue you are all having. Please be aware that all your data on the xbox will be wiped so you will need to download/install all your games etc again.

The problem seems to be some data corruption on the xbox which prevents the home screen from loading correctly, this can often be fixed by a factory restore. Now as you can't actually access the settings to do this there is a way to restore to factory defaults
using a USB flash drive.

If you visit the offline system diagnostic website
HERE and download the Restore Factory Defaults file

Read through the process of formatting the flash drive etc thouroughly and follow the instructions as if you were doing a system update but using the file you downloaded you may find that your xbox will then boot correctly.

I have tried all the different things people have said, finally got hold of xbox support and was told to send it into them to fix as there wasn't anything i could do! Thankfully i was still under warranty... only had my xbox 9 months or so!

 

Had to use the factory default, note, the side usb port didn't work for me on this but the rear did, and the kid has thrown away the codes for the games *sigh*, painful but it's back

GillyGamer, any games you downloaded using redeemable codes should show in My Games & Apps as ready to install once you have downloaded the profile that redeemed the codes onto the Xbox.

 

Can anyone confirm if a factory reset has fixed the problem?

 

@LukeA13X - yes it works. I was lucky, I had ALL my games on an External Harddrive which I disconnected, made the Reset etc. and connected it after my Profile was back on the Console. It saved me many hours

 

Same issue here, although we also had the disc grinding noise. Tried the factory reset and still nothing, 'customer support' have recommended sending in for repair at a cost of £83 to me!

This is the second console I've had in 18 months, a replacement from Microsoft for a failed Day 1 console!

The first console lasted 11 months, the second just 8 months - certainly not worth £429!!!

Tried everything to fix this and there is no fix I had to buy a new Xbox after only 15 months.I've never known a worse company than Microsoft for customer service

 

Well this problem has resurfaced when I downloaded the Windows 10 update.The day after I turn on my Xbox and tried to play with my friends but I couldn't connect so I hard reset my Xbox then after got the black screen.Ive done everything other than the restore
factory defaults because I only have an apple computer and don't know how to change a files format.However back to the black screen,If I were to hold down the Xbox button on my controller,I would get the Turn off Xbox and turn off controller.There was also
a option to report a problem but when I clicked on that I would get a flashing grey bar on my screen.Another thing that I noticed was that when my friend was on my account and got off,It said signed out elsewhere and welcome back and my name.So I'm curious
if I could get notifications.
