Xbox One - Black Screen?

Just had the same thing happen to me and I was about to flip out cause I had just downloaded Ryse and was getting ready to give it a go...

Black Ops 3 is not backwards compatible on Xbox One, Black Op 3 is already available on Xbox One.

 

i had this issue in the week as well - had problems with netflix then told it to shut down and didn't turn off properly - got it to turn on and it wouldn't - had to pull plug on it.

never had any issues with my 360

 

Is MS aware of this or can we advise?

 

This happened to me twice now. Hard reset works getting it back but its scary.

 

I'm partly glad to find out that it's not a hardware issue (video card) and partly disappointed as I've had my XB 1 for only 12 days now and all this was due to the software update that was put out just before I bought my console. This seems to be a rampant
problem and I share everyone's pain! GET IT TOGETHER, MICROSOFT!

 

Has anyone else had the power indicator light on their Kinect flickering on and off while the black screen is happening? I also had this issue once before the update, but it's happened a few times since I downloaded the update.

 

The update to fix issues has just created new issues. Voice commands that once worked now don't. Black screen. And who knows what else. It's getting very frustrating paying money for a system that doesn't work as advertised.

 

Hi all to answer the earlier question: "is MS aware"? We have sent these issues to a team that is setup to get these issues directly to MS. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

In the mean time I would 1: Reboot the system completely once per week if using instant on mode

( With the console on, press and hold the power button on the console for 5-8 seconds until it shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait about 30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green splash screen upon reboot. It may take a
minute to boot all the way to the home screen. If you did not see the green Xbox splash screen, please redo it.)

I just posted something about this also. I've been having this issue also. It sucks to have to have to reboot it to fix.

I hope they are working VERY HARD on this issue because it has been fine up until about a week ago. There are PLENTY of other issues and now this.

Yay - now I have to wait while I hard reset my xbox every time I want to watch tv or switch between apps. Is it possible to force install an old update? With the black screens and the voice commands not working I am really not enjoying this "update".

Major: No but you can change the power settings until a fixed is released.
