Xbox One Black Screen

I had to restore my console to factory settings and this worked for me!

 

I have tried all methods and I could not bring back my xbox ... any suggestions??

 

So I looks like me and my daughter are gonna loose all our game save data. Bye bye 100s of hrs of gaming if it hasn't synchronised. Cant believe it happened to both consoles n i hope it sorts it coz my console warranty ran outlast year, my daughter is lucky
she's only had hers since Christmas

 

This exact thing happened to me last night, I was hoping this was a problem with the power brick or console being overheated, but I came on today and there's still a black screen, this seems to be a new problem for a lot people, so I assume it's an update
bug. Hopefully this problem is solved sooner than later.

 

I am having the same issue. I noticed in another thread that you could try completely unplugging the unit for 15 minutes and plug it back it and boot it. This has worked for some people. I am trying it now. I will post an update if it works.

 

The power reboot did not work. I have found the fix for my console. You have to run the Restore Factory Defaults steps on the following link... support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool
You will need a blank USB drive to do this. You have to download the Restore Factory Defaults file on that page and copy the folder in the zip file to a NTFS formated USB drive without having anything else on it. Then turn off your xbox and plug the USB
stick in. Hold the BIND button, it is just above the USB port on the left side of the console, looks like there are 3 curved lines on it, with the eject button. The xbox will power on and you will hear the power up tones twice and it will show a system update
screen. After that it will run you through system setup again. You will lose all your data that is not synced and have to install all your apps again, but at least you won't have to buy a new console or pay the $135 to have it repaired by microsoft. Please

Good news/bad news: After letting the black screen sit for about 15 minutes, the dashboard finally loaded. Bad news is, the dashboard was completely slow, wasn't loading, and did not respond to my controller. After waiting for 10 minutes, I decided to restart
my Xbox, but now I'm back on the black screen where I'll probably have to wait another 15 minutes, and most likely have the same situation. Baby steps, people, baby steps.

I'm sad that I have to download everything again but it's better than having to spend money.

After successfully reseting my console back to factory, it ran fine last night and then froze up again this morning. There doesn't seem to be any commonality between when our consoles fail, except that it is an xbox one. Microsoft has left me high and
dry, they want $135 to fix my console when it was their software that has caused the problem. If my xbox is dead in the water I will be putting $135 towards a PS4. I never had any issues with my PS3.

 

Apologies guys, it did freeze this morning and my wife was playing with the wires in the back while I was sleeping due to the freeze. I have run the system reset to factory since there was no picture. I will keep you posted as to if it freezes again. It
seems it froze while she was watching netflix.

 

Seems the fix has stuck, no freezes as of yet. Please let me know if this fix works for you as this will help other people find the answer.

 

Same things happens to me today and Microsoft's customer service is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard I have spent £1000 on games for this piece of crap

 

I just had this same issue. Factory resetting the xbox seemed to fix it.

 

Having same problem, I don't recall any failed update though the console just stopped working yesterday but can't be a co-incidence that there are a heap of other users on here at the same day with the same problem....

am downloading the OSUDT2 file and will try that - it is soooo slow though 24k for a 1.83 g file .... first time I have had a problem with an xbox (360 or one) and amazed by the absence of Microsoft advice or accountability to something they have done to
brick a product.
