XBOX ONE BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH

Today my Xbox One froze while loading a multiplayer match in COD. I had no choice but to unplug it and kill the power. Now it will not progress from the green start-up screen. It makes it to that point, loads for about 45 seconds, then goes to a
black screen. If I just turn the Xbox off normally, then back on later, it will go straight to the black screen. If I do a complete shutdown (holding the Xbox button on the console) and then turn it back on, it goes to the green start-up screen, then back
to the black screen. I've exhausted all resources and troubleshooting tips. I have done the soft and hard reset, turning off for 5 and 10 seconds, I've tried turning it on in low resolution, I've tried to turn it on with the eject button only (with no game
inside). I've switched inputs, HDMI cables, and TVs. I have tried to leave it unplugged for a couple of hours and tried it again. I have left the black screen on for a couple hours. I've left the console plugged in but not turned on four a couple of hours.
I've literally tried everything.

I see several other forums were started for this issue but were locked with no answers. Why are you avoiding this problem Microsoft! My friends and I have always been Xbox players. But if i have to pay to fix this Xbox or replace it because of an
issue that has been happening for the past three years and not being addressed, i'm just going to replace it with a PS4 and be done with Microsoft! 360 red ring of death... now X1 Black Screen of Death

My solution doesn't work on issues that include software / hardware problems that require special care.

For me, the 5 minutes of being unplugged works wonders when my console isn't working properly.

Hi, as a last resort you could try a factory restore using a USB flash drive.

YEAH THAT WORKED!! Thanks EggsBoxJuan! I knew of the offline system update, but didn't realize they had a factory reset download. Better to set everything up again then have a nothing at all.

 

Good to see that worked for you, it isn't ideal having to set things up from scratch but as you say it's better than nothing.

I tried everything resetting the factory defaults the updates everything but when I do instead of getting 2 sounds (starting up sounds when you hold the binge and eject button) I get 4 and nothing happens I don't know what to do I called Microsoft but they
want me to pay $135 so they can fix the problem which is bull if I didn't cause the problem

 

The same thing happened that happened to Gur SxAxW but nothing seems to work please help

 

you can go to devicesupport.microsoft.com and set up a repair yourself for 115 dollars if your console is out of warranty with microsoft

 

why do that if we didn't cause the issue? If Microsoft sent us an update and it broke our xbox's then Microsoft should cover the cost to fix it.
