Xbox One Black Screen issue or something else?

Now I know about the low resolution and reboot fixes as i used the reboot fix in the past but my black screens tend to last about 20-30 seconds each and won't happen at the start-up or when i press Home just randomly throughout gameplay or looking through
the menus. Then back on like i just plugged the HDMI back in. Is this the same problem as everyone else? or is it something else?

Sorry to hear about the blank screen issue. Sounds like it could be something related to the video on the console or the HDMI cable. Please take a look at this guide for "Black Screen" and see if it helps. It may seem like a different issue, but the same

Hello, yes the Xbox one does carry a one year warranty.

Is your Xbox not powering on at all or does it power up and after the Xbox logo screen you get nothing but a black screen or is it something else?

 

This is not the same problem that other people I've seen seem to be reporting.

 

No it is different, but I would suggest the same "Soft Reset" in hopes that it will resolve it. For this 'Soft Reset", With X1 on, press and hold consoles power button for 5-10 seconds until it powers down. Unplug Power cord from back of the X1. Wait 30
seconds. Plug power cord back in. Press power button on the X1 console to boot. Boot time will take a bit longer, yet once done hopefully this issue will be resolved.

@Phayze. This also sounds like it could be an HDMI issue also. Make sure all HDMI cables are seated correctly. Use the included X1 HDMI cable for the console itself as that cord has a deeper plug end specifically made for the X1. You may also want to try
another HDMI cable from your AVR, if your using one to your TV as this may be faulty also. I instruct so many to swap out cables and the issues of bad "handshakes" etc are resolved most of the time. Also if your using a AVR (Audio Video receiver) make sure
its current on firmware as well with your TV.

I just use a straight connection from the xbox to the tv. I also went to a local store and picked up another HDMI, to see if that will help. I'll post again once I get to testing everything.

 

I've tried the new HDMI and same issue, works fine for about 40-60 mins then it does the same thing, blacks out for 20-30 seconds then comes back on. I'll keep messing around with HDMIs and see if i can get a fix.

 

Also could it be my TV? I have a LN530B LG 32 Inch 720p.

 

Do you have the console settings set to 720P instead of 1080? see link below:

Yes, however I am starting to think that it's my TV. As i was going through menus to see if there was a feature causing the problem and it randomly turned off on me.

 

Final update to this: I was able to make it run better, no black screens yet but i've been running it only about an hour at a time. Going for a few hours tonight. What i did was put all my power cords onto a power block with a surge protector. Not sure what
changed but it seems it be helping.
