Xbox one black screen brick

I assume my xbox updated again yesterday, I never see it when it does, but I know it already had the windows 10 update. Yesterday I came home and try to turn on the xbox and all I get is a black screen. I tried all the standard hard reset button combos I
have come to know so well (always some kind of problem with this thing). This time that didnt work. The eject and power button combo made it boot up to a green loading screen, it stayed there for an unusually long amount of time then went black. No bootup
sounds or anything. I left it on black screen for more than 30 minutes, no change. So I now have a randomly working kinect, and where the xbox used to need video resets periodically, now it doesnt work at all. I have the original titanfall bundle that sold
just after the day one editions.

Black Screen of Death

I had the same thing. Turn on, remove disk. Turn off. Unplug the power cord from the power brick. Wait one minute. Plug back in, Turn on. That worked for me.

and it isnt just black screen when i put in/load a game, its black from the moment i turn on the xbox. just to clarify. my xbox is a brick right now

 

When I get the black screen at start up, the only thing I can do to reset the console is to pull the power cord out of the back and then reconnect it again after a few seconds. My console then always starts ok from there (but never shuts down properly now!).

 

Tried that, even left it unplugged all night.

 

You got a bad update just like the rest of us.

There is two solutions:

Waiting it out - I've read for some it worked

Factory reset - you will have to reset your Xbox to be like the day you first plugged it in and redownlaod ALL your apps and games. This *** site has a offline diagnostic tool link that helps you go through the steps. Make sure you have a USB that is empty
to upload the files onto it from your computer and then plugged into the Xbox

I've had to do the second option as I wasted TWO DAYS staring at that *** green screen. It worked....for a while it seems with this new bad update pushed through AGAIN my Xbox is not playing sound files, crashing to dashboard, home dashboard not able to
load, etc etc. I may only get to play Destiny for 10mins before it freezes, crashes to home, get a black screen and then nothing else to do but to I GUESS factory reset it again

 

I'm very happy at least to find out that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Super frustrating, tried every reset in the book and just ended up a black/grey screen every single time. So frustrating

 

Gold blooded 13 was correct. I had to factory reset it off the thumb drive and lose all my games. I haven't checked yet if my fallout 4 saves were backed up, I'll update when I know.
