Xbox one backwards compatible question

Hello Xbox users,

I have a very random question about the upcoming patch for Xbox One about the Xbox 360 backwards compatible.
So I know you need to have a disk to basically show you own the game, but what would the games that you do not no longer own, but are stored on your achievements.
Let's say Forza Motorsport 3.... (Much better than the one and has more tracks and cars but anyway)
I no longer own the disk but it is on my achievements as being played and such, what if they added to the Xbox One game store to buy for cheap or whatever. Would it come up as free for me as I owned and played or no, I would have to basically rebuy all
the old games again?
I am just very curious because there are a few games on own that I bought from the Xbox store.. I know which will unlock for free to download, but what about the games that are not on the store that I used to own and played. Would I need to buy them again
for them to work..
It would be a lot better if they added them for free to people who previously owned and played. So it just pops up on the account you know.

hello, you will not tell why it is not possible to buy the game Dragon age origin for Xbox one? although the game is listed backward compatible. and one more question. Will Dragon age 2 be backwards compatible?

Pretty sure if you ain't got the disc then you'll need to buy it again but if your that keen to play them I'm sure you'll be able to pick them up cheaply but you better check first to see if they are compatible

Yeah,you would need to buy it again if you don't own a physical copy

You must own either a physical copy or digital copy to be able to play it on the xbox one if it's backwards compatible.

This is a great question! To answer your question any game listed on the Backwards compatible list will work on the xbox one you can find that list here

www.xbox.com/.../backward-compatibility In your situation you have to have the exact game on that list your best bet is to reach out to the game developer and let them know you want it backwards compatible. They don't know unless people like you tell them.

Hi there,

The only way someone on Xbox One can play with someone on the Xbox 360 is if the Xbox One user plays one of the backwards compatible titles and both accounts have an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
