Xbox One backwards compatibility

Hi!

My xbox one does not support backwards compatibility. All updates are installed.

What am I doing wrong?

What 360 games are you trying to play?

 

The "Backwards Compatibility" only exists for games that they have told the XBox ONE to recognise as "Backwards Compatible".

Most of the games on the XBox 360 simply will not work on the XBox ONE.

Microsoft will claim the reason they can't make everything available at once is that they need a Publisher's permission to make the game Backwards Compatible.

But the real reason Backwards Compatibility exists is to lure XBox 360 owners who have been on the fence for a while into the false supposition that they will be able to play their 360 games on the ONE.

If you could do that... why not buy a ONE?

There are too many Xbox 360 games to add to the Backwards Compatibility and add the fact that it cost money for Microsoft to add games to Backwards Compatibility.

In the long run, the only way that the Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility will replace the Xbox 360 is if all of its games are Backwards Compatible, a feat that could be done but most likely won't happend.

My guess is that Microsoft will mostly focus on the popular titles with a sprinkle of not so popular titles every now and then.

As others have stated it depends on the game. Some are BC but many are not. I personally have several BC games running on my One.

Yeah, it isn't like they are giving away the games. And they could have put BC in the system to start and would not need permissions. You would think that since they own the 360 and its system software they could do whatever they wanted with that. Then
again, it seems that the games download again so whatever they are doing could b ea sticking point.

I also wonder how often games will be released now. They could realistically take more than a month for game releases without the expectation they release new game monthly. I feel like we are in a situation where they will try and push a few more big titles
here and there. Especially during the holiday season. And move on from the One faster than they did the 360. 5 year life span for the One is all I can see being realistic. They may support it a year or so after but the death probably will be quicker than
that.

Honestly, I love Microsoft and the Xbox Brand but realistically I don't see this Backwards Compatability support lasting for more than one year.

Once there is a major shift of Xbox 360 users to the Xbox One, I wouldn't be surprised if the Backwards Compatibility support will come down to a couple of new games ever couple of months instead of every month.
