Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Question.

Hello Xbox Community, I have a question. I heard all about the backwards compatibility and since that I have been wondering, when I download a game via disc will I have to insert my disc everytime for it to launch?

Question about backwards compatibility I get my xbox one Xbox Live through another account because its home Xbox is my xbox, thus I get xbox live. Will I still have the xbox live on the 360 emulator when I use backwards compatibility?

You can play some Xbox 360 games on Xbox One through backwards compatibility. A full list of those games is here:

However, games for which there are both an Xbox One and Xbox 360 version are unlikely to ever be made backwards compatible, so if you wish to play that game on Xbox One you would need to purchase, either digitally or on disc, the Xbox One version of the
game.

Hi Zinqeeh,

I'm assuming you will have to insert your disc everytime you want to play the said game, even though you may have installed the game on the console. Otherwise, it will just be a loophole, which can be easily exploited by sharing that disc with friends, or
perhaps returning it back to the store for a refund. Hence I doubt Microsoft will allow such exploitation to happen.

I can confirm you need to have your disc in the console in order to play backwards compatible games that you did not purchase digitally

the game in question is part of the backwards compatibility, if you do not think you will read it, see the list of 360 games available for One in the backwards compatibility.

This is a great question! To answer your question any game listed on the Backwards compatible list will work on the xbox one you can find that list here

www.xbox.com/.../backward-compatibility In your situation you have to have the exact game on that list your best bet is to reach out to the game developer and let them know you want it backwards compatible. They don't know unless people like you tell them.

Hi there,

The only way someone on Xbox One can play with someone on the Xbox 360 is if the Xbox One user plays one of the backwards compatible titles and both accounts have an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
