Xbox one backwards compatibility And XBLA

I would love to see microsoft do something about putting xbox (original) and xbox 360 games on the Xbox one. The ps4 is already about to release Their ps now and microsoft has yet to confirm anything dealing with backwards compatibility. Phil spencer Needs
to come out with a plan eventually. Plus i would love to see XBLA return on the xbox one. This will make the xbox one a must buy for gamers who havent decided on which console to get yet.

Yeah...I have already brought that up on another thread after reading in the "Your Guide To The Xbox One" mag that there will be no disc or XBLA backwards compatibility with the 360.

psnow is a joke, very limited on games (because they wont put anything they cant get away with charging $5 for 4 hours on there)...way overpriced...i would actually despise MS for following Sony's footsteps if they tried digital RENTALS of old games...well
at least if they tried to stick it to the gamers like Sony.

No, he doesn't. He doesn't "need" to do anything.
Original XBOX and XBOX 360 games are just that - games for those platforms.

Won't happen. Games are now "just games" on the console. There's no differentiation.

The less than 5% who used original XBOX BC on the 360 beg to differ.

PSNow is overpriced. XBL Arcade was nice, but doubtful it will be labled as XBL Arcade again. Backwards compatibility is tough to do. And as we seen last gen, the controller and response times were awful. Although, the controllers now are more similar
than the Xbox and Xbox 360 were.

 

I can see what ice means, esp with the amount of these threads seems to increase by the week... Is it because they want to bring their games over, get cheap games, sell their existing setup and keep the games or be able to get loads of cheap games quickly.

Either way none of it helps push next gen so iam completly against it. but good luck.

 

PS is pretty lame, and useless without the super fast connection. There have been "rumors" of BC coming to the X1, but nothing soild yet. Personally, I would rather for MS to focus on making the console better and optimizing it first, and then thinking about
maybe trying to add BC to the X1 later.

 

Why do you want XBLA to return? We are have games like Stryder, Guacamelle, Halo: Spartan Assault etc all of which are on the 360 classed as XBLA games. The only difference is that they are now classed as "games".

 

Just my opinion but I think Strider, Guacamelle and Halo Spartan Assault are mediocre. Child of Light, Worms, Peggle and PvZ Garden Warfare are much better examples. Just sayn!

 

I do wish I had more friends to play Worms with - that's the ONLY reason I don't play it more...

I still don't understand, considering the multitude of these threads, why people can't just play their 360 games on an Xbox 360. It seems it would make perfect sense.

 

Im interested in it, just to have all my games in one place. I would be happy if they at least made the digital purchases BC. Just like when you buy a new iPhone or Android, etc, you still get to download all the apps that you bought in the ecosystem.
