Xbox One Backwards Comparability

So I sold my Xbox 360 right. Anyway, if I buy a game on the 360 would It go to my profile or how does that work.

Xbox 360 game code on Xbox One?

Hi. So, recently I purchased an Xbox 360 digital code for Fallout 3. I don't have an Xbox 360, and I had thought that the backward comparability feature on Xbox One also applied to game codes. So, I tried the code on my Xbox One and, to put it bluntly, it
didn't work. I would like to know if backward comparability does not apply to digital game codes, or if something else happened?

If anyone could be so kind, I would love an invite to the program. I'm very excited to participate in making the system better. (plus I'd love to play mass effect again!)

You can vote for games to become backwards compatible,
here.

 

If you purchase a game it links to your account, not to your Xbox. When you want to play it, you would then need to download/install it to your system.

Also on xbox.com, you can view what Xbox Consoles are connected to your profile, in which you can delete the one that you sold, to make sure no one has your information.
