Xbox One Backward Compatibility

So when I go to Xbox One Backward Compatibility List | Xbox to check which Xbox 360 games are available there's this message at the bottom that says: "With
over 100 titles available now, and hundreds more to come, Xbox One is now the best place to play your Xbox 360 games."

I just find it odd, not just because the Xbox One has been out for over 2 years now and they only have made 100 older games compatible, but it just doesn't seem like a logical statement. If you can only play 100 older games, how exactly is the Xbox One better
than playing Xbox 360 games than the Xbox 360, which can play all of the Xbox 360 games?

I've pretty much given up on the Xbox One at this point, but being able to play older 360 games might encourage me to turn it on once a month or so. Many of the older games also allow you play splitscreen with your friends, which apparently is some super
taboo thing on the new generation consoles.

I think 100 is a very reasonable number if there's an issue its with which games make up that 100. I think it's going to be like when they made the 360 backward compatible though and not last very long

 

You're Gold and if you had a 360, the two free games per month for it you actually get to keep. X1 only games you don't get to keep. (3 pathoms down within the ad)

BC was the best thing MS did with the X1, aside from playing my BC 360 titles, Netflix and other aps. My X1 wouldn't get used at all.

So lets hope MS keeps those BC titles coming.

In my opinion, I don't see this " Backwards Compatability List " growing after 2016 because I think that this program is primarily being used to sell Xbox Ones to those that still own an Xbox 360.

Please understand that it isn't my intention to be mean / rude to Microsoft, it is just that as wonderful as this whole " Backwards Compatability " thing is (it is an amazing program for those that want to play Xbox 360 games); it is also costing Microsoft
money to support it.
