    XBOX One Audio Playback - Slowed Down


    While listening to Spotify today, my XBOX One audio began to malfunction. The music started to skip & play incredibly slow. I assumed it was just Spotify, but after checking a couple of other apps & games, it became clear the issue is deeper than a single
    app.

    I then turned off the console & tried an app that is installed on the TV instead. The audio playback worked correctly, thus eliminating my audio hardware as the problem.

    I reset the XBOX by all normal methods:

    • Held the Power button for 10 seconds
    • Unplugged the device completely
    • Software reset leaving all games & apps
    • Software reset removing all games & apps

    All video appears to work correctly. The issue is with audio playback only. Since it was working correctly & suddenly began malfunctioning while using an app, it is unlikely to be a cable issue (HDMI). I suspect this to be an actual audio hardware failure,
    but I'm open to suggestions.

    Xbox One S - DVD & Blu-ray audio out of sync - DVD audio/video sync worse

    UPDATE: Xbox One S returned. No solution for audio sync issue on DVD/Blu-ray playback.

    After scouring the internet I cannot find a solution. The Xbox Support seems to be correct. There was an issue with the Xbox One S where the audio was not in sync with the video on DVD and Blu-ray playback. I returned the Xbox One S.

    Hopefully few other experience the issue.

    General issues since last 2 updates

    One for me that I'm having:

    TV playback in snapped mode is very glitchy. Drops way too many frames to be useful. Actually most things you put in the snapped panel slow down the system or don't multitask as well as they used to.

    Can't watch videos on xbox (streaming from mac) although I have updated the xbox system

    It may be that some of your files are unsupported, this page lists the specs of supported files:

    support.xbox.com/.../audio-video-playback     You will note that it plays MP4s just fine, it just depends on the MP4.

    the fix for me was going to my audio setting and turning off optical audio. Looks like a piece of code my have turned it on
    Interesting fix. The only other thing that I've seen cause speech to slow down is the text to speech functionality for accessibility. It can be slowed way down.
