    XBox One / ATT- uPnP Not Successful


    HI,



    New AT&T customer here. I now have my Xbox set up in the basement, I am hardwiring the ethernet cable.



    In Network Settings I receive a UPnP Not successful message. While I can get on the internet, this seems to be messing up things like Party Chat. I had a long chat with ATT support on how to resolve this and
    got nowhere. At the end, they said they needed to send me a new modem. I will give this a chance when it comes but am very skeptical this is the issue.



    Has anyone had this same issue? I really just want my internet to work right. I don't want to deal with the hassle of already changing providers but ability to play Xbox online is a requirement.



    I have seen some things online about port forwarding and manually resetting stuff in the router/modem but I am not that tech savvy for these type of things and have no idea what I am doing.

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Are you getting the error message "UPnp not successful?" If so, check out this support article for troubleshooting steps : UPnP
    not successful in your network settings

    Hello ARTeaux007! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

    First thing I would do is check to see if your router needs an update. If that's up to date then try the following:

    1. Sign in to your router’s setup webpage, and make sure the router’s UPnP setting is turned on. You can usually find first-time help with this in the router manual or on the manufacturer’s support site.
    2. Turn the UPnP setting off and save your changes.
    3. Restart your console, your modem, and your router.
    4. Turn the UPnP setting back on and save your changes. If there’s a Zero Config setting, make sure that’s turned on as well.
    5. Restart your modem and router.

    Once you’ve reset your router:

    1. Restart your console.
    2. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    3. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
    4. Check your settings again to make sure the UPnP message is gone.
