Xbox One app (Windows 10) Streaming - Microphone not Working

Over the past few weeks I've been using the xbox app to stream, record gameplay and in-game party / voice chat, but for some reason it's recently stopped working. The microphone it'self works fine even when using the xbox app. But, When I start streaming,
it's no longer recognised and therefore not useable.

I've tried to reinstall the xbox app and replaced the audio drivers on my PC, but still nothing. I have a feeling that the new Xbox one update may have caused some compatibility issues. I've searched online for a solution, with issues dating back 2 years ago
and even contacted Microsoft, who mentioned it's "an ongoing issue".

If anyone can lend a helping hand or fix, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Bug: Microphone doesn't work after disconnecting Windows 10 streaming

Another issue I'm running into with the headset adapter + windows 10 streaming:

I docked my surface pro 2 into the docking station, which has a wired PC microphone plugged in. When I start playing (Rainbow Six Siege), the game audio is coming through my headset adapter (via the Xbos Stereo Headset), but the Windows 10 Xbox app is utilizing
my wired PC microphone instead of the Stereo Headset/Headset Adapter. I can't figure out a way to force the streaming app to use the microphone plugged into my controller...

(not sure if I should document this issue in another thread)

It seems there may be some minor issues between the Windows 10 Xbox streaming application when used with the Xbox Headset Adapter.

When streaming to PC you may have to use the integrated chat inside using the Xbox app in windows 10. This includes you having to directly use a microphone of your choice that compatible with your system running Windows 10.

If the same instance occurs after installing the latest updates for the Xbox app, the next troubleshooting solution is to uninstall and reinstall the Xbox app. Here are the steps:

1. Launch Windows PowerShell as an administrator. To do this, click Start > All apps > Windows PowerShell. Right-click Windows PowerShell and click More > Run as Administrator.
   
2. In the Windows PowerShell window, copy and paste the following command: Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
3. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.
4. Once done uninstalling, click this

Okay, I've tried this troubleshooting solution and it's still not working correctly.

The current installed version of the Xbox app I'm using is: 27.27.28010.00000

 

The next thing that we have to check is your device NAT type. If the NAT type of your device is set to Strict or Moderate, you may encounter issues communicating with other gamers online. Refer to

Okay, my NAT type is set to: Open

It's still not working.

 

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. This can be an issue with the Xbox One console. Kindly perform the following solutions on your console:

Solution 1: Clear Persistent Storage

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
   
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Disc & Blu-Ray.
5. In the Blu-Ray section, select Persistent Storage.
6. Select Clear persistent storage.
7. Restart your Xbox One console.

Solution 2: Clear MAC Address

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Network.
5. Select Network settings.
6. Select Advanced settings.
7. Select Alternate MAC address.
8. Select Clear.
9. Select Restart.

Solution 3: Remove and re-add your Microsoft account on Xbox One

I've tried all of these solutions but it's still not working.

 

Let's perform a power cycle reset on your Xbox One console, your Windows 10 device and your network hardware. Here are the steps:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for five minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
2. Restart your Xbox console:
   1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
   2. Select Settings.
   3. Select Restart console.
   4. Select Yes to confirm.
3. Restart your Windows 10 device:
   1. Press the system's power button until the device turns off.
   2. If you're using a desktop, disconnect the power cable from the back of your system. If you're using a laptop, remove the battery.
   3. Disconnect all external devices attached to the device.
   4. Wait for 10 seconds before turning it back on.
4. After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
5. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

 

I performed a power cycle reset for both Xbox one and PC.

It's still not working correctly.

I still have the issue.

 

Kindly sign in to the Xbox app using a different Microsoft account for us to isolate if this is an account issue. Refer to
