There is a way to set up the xbox one And xbox one S with the majority of surround systems that have a input of Phono or Jack cables but No spdif Cable input.

There is a device known as a SPDIF convertor picture below, Shows this device using this device is quite basic and will works on xbox ones and Xbox one S with Most surround sound systems that have the Jack 3.5 or Phono cables Left and Right ( White and red
)

The picture shows the type of stuff I am meaning but it is quite stright forward and works perfectly fine with most

TV and Surround Sound Setup

Hello, I have a question involving setting up my Xbox One to turn on and off my TV and my Surround Sound system. My current setup is through HDMI and it goes from the Xbox One to my Pyle Surround sound system then from the Pyle Surround Sound system to my
Samsung Smart TV. I have tried numerous times to set it up so that when I turn on my Xbox One everything turns on, and when I turn off my Xbox One everything turns off. How would I make this work? I would also like to be able to control the volume of the Pyle
Surround Sound system from my Xbox One if possible.

Xbox One (HDMI) -> Pyle System (HDMI)-> Samsung Smart TV (HDMI)

This would be a very niche solution - for example someone trying to use PC speakers for their console.

Also remember that we also can pass audio over HDMI.

Indeed would work with PC speakers since there normally jack connection cable (USB speakers can be a bit different).

I use this solution myself and it goes through a total of 4 2:1 ratio sound systems quite nice set up

the Pass over HDMI does have some quality loss over the sound and video (Example of this 1080 goes to 720 with some audio hdmi pulling out system) I have seen the audio over HDMI can come with issues as well.

This one quite simple pick up and go solution and some places sell these converters for quite cheap. As Ackis Has said there is other solutions for the same result, Personally I'd say this one is more detailed and with some users already using the SPDIF
for Astro headsets for example this still can work along side the astros very well.

Hi there I can think of a way to use the SPDIF to go to your speaker and have made a forum post that might be a work around til the update arrives.

Perhaps this might be a option instead It should work on standard and put it through your dolby speaker set up (Depends on the connection type and model) But that might be a option for you

Hi Mayxze,

The sound is transmitted through the HDMI cable so you may need an audio receiver in between the monitor and your Xbox. Would you mind explaining how you have the Xbox set up to your monitor and are the speakers external or internal from the monitor?

You may need to find some speakers that connect using the optical S/PDIF port in the back if your monitor does not have internal speakers.
