xbox one and xbox 360 together

ok so i just got an xbox one, without kinect and I've had an xbox 360 for a while and still play on it. but is there a way to be able to switch between the two consoles. i am the first of my friends to get the one and i still want to play with them so is
there a way to do both with out switching cords?

You can Hdmi pass through but you might as well just plug them both into the same tv and switch inputs when needed.

 

yes plug the 360 hdmi out lead into the xbox one hdmi in port

I have heard a lot of negative things about hooking up your Xbox 360 into the HDMI port of the Xbox One.

My Xbox 360 and Xbox One are hooked up to their own HDMI ports (because my TV has 3 of them LOL).

Personally, I recommend that you NOT connect your Xbox 360 to the back of your Xbox One and simply opt to use the extra HDMI ports of your TV

Can I share a related story?

For about 9 months I was getting up and manually switching my HDMI cord when I wanted to switch consoles. A few short months ago, I found an extra HDMI slot on my TV. Man did I feel stupid.

Lesson learned: Thoroughly check your TV for all inputs or refer to the manual.

I'm glad you're concerned somewhat for my well being, but I honestly felt really stupid. That's not putting myself down as I truly did feel stupid and I still do!

All that time wasted getting up and down from the couch! Ahhhhh! Hahaha. =)

OMG, I just checked my TV now and apparently I have 4 HDMI ports to use not 3 LOL

I missed it becuase it wasn't on the sides of the TV, it was on the back LOL

Hahahaha! See I did something similar!

All of my HDMI's are on the right side of the TV, except the third is hidden a step down and you can't see it unless you're on eye level! Haha.

I was always be checking the manual to see how many inputs there are from now on! =)

 

I have had my XBOX 360 connected to my XBOX ONE since I got it back in April 2014. I have had no issues with it so far.

 

I heard there is lag between the controller and 360 when using the pass through, I also read the picture quality suffers. I don't know for sure as I have plenty of hdmi sockets on my TV.

 

And also just adding that if you wish to have them both wired to the Internet but only have one Ethernet wall socket, purchase an small 4 or 8 port Ethernet switch. I was switching the Ethernet chord out every time I wanted to go online. Now I don't need
to bother.

 

I can personally vouch for the lag and picture degradation if you plug in the Xbox 360 into your Xbox One. That's why I put them into 2 separate rooms.
