xbox one and xbox 360 system link with Halo

This may seem like kind of a stupid question but was just curious if it would work. From what I've read I know it's possible to system link xbox 360's and xbox one's together on the same network. I was wondering if anyone had tried playing the MCC version
of Halo 3 through system link with friends who were playing on the original version on the 360.

Xbox One needs system link

Why can't I system link multiple Xbox Ones like the original Xboxes and Xbox 360? I'm I missing something here? I'm unable to system link two Xbox Ones playing Halo Master Chief Collection.

Xbox One and 360 System Link

Hey,

I sold my 360 when I got my Xbox One but all my friends still have 360s. Since backwards compatibility has come out, I was wondering if anyone knows whether I could perform a System Link between a friend's 360 and
my One for Reach. I know the One practically emulates a 360, (startup, press start and select to access Xbox 360 menu, etc.) and I was wondering if that extended to a System Link.

Just want to know if it is possible or not,

Unfortunately this would not work as the MCC has its own matchmaking and system link on Xbox One independent from the Xbox 360 releases.

Are you trying to system link between Xbox ones that are playing the Halo: Master Chief Collection and Xbox 360s that are playing the Xbox 360/Xbox Original versions of those games? I'm pretty sure that cross-play between Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of
the games will not work. You can cross-play with the Xbox 360 version of the games on both consoles, for example, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4 are backwards compatible on Xbox one.

You will either need all Xbox ones playing the Halo: Master Chief Collection or all Xbox 360s running the Xbox 360 Halo game of your choice.

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums. You actually can system link an Xbox one to an Xbox 360 for backwards compatible games. The steps would be the same as it would to system link two 360 consoles together. Although there is no article specifically for

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. We understand have issues when linking a Xbox 360 to an Xbox 0ne. When you set this up, have you had the Xbox 360 and Xbox one connected via an ethernet cable? Also on the Xbox one, is the game updated exactly
the same as the Xbox 360? The best thing I found would be to have all consoles connected via ethernet to your router for the system link. Here is a link for

I'm not sure if you can system link your ONE's.

But for the 360 could you not do this with most of the HALO games?
