Xbox One and the New Groove Music Update 08-18-2016 Where are my Music Videos??!!

I don't understand why now in my play lists, the videos are no longer supported. Shouldn't Xbox send out a message about this change to it's subscribers? After all, maybe that's one reason I spend my money for the music service. One day you have it the
next day it's gone and there is no explanation.

Unfortunately there isn't currently an option to view music videos in the Xbox One Groove Music App. You should still have access to all of your music still. If you have any questions or concerns on purchases please reach out to

You can use SoundCloud or Groove to play music while playing a game.

Background music gives you some example of what apps can be used.

There are other apps that support background music besides Spotify though.

According to this site, VLC, Groove, iheartradio, and Pandora support the feature. Additionally, there is the Simple Background Music Player app that lets allows for playback from USB devices.

That app plays audio files in both M4A and MP4 formats, in addition to MP3, WMA, and FLAC.

In regards to Groove, it doesn't sound like you can stream anymore.

"We’ll continue to update the Windows 10 Groove Music apps for PC, Xbox, and Windows Phone so you can play your purchased music. On December 31, 2017, the option to stream, purchase, and download music from Groove Music was discontinued. If
your purchased music was downloaded, you’ll still be able to listen to it."
