    Xbox One and System Link

Woow, how are gaming lounges suppose to function without system link, there is a whole new industry of gamers grouping up and playing together in gaming lounges, regular tournaments, etc..., businesses like that thrive on local play. Without system link
those lounges will cease to grow and die out. Playing at home can get pretty lonely in the long run. So please bring system link back, trust me people will eventually find a way to make it pay off.

Can someone tell me why the thread titled: Does xbox one offer System Link (to physically connect 2 or more Xbox one's together for LAN multiplayer)? is closed?

I too am very disappointed by the lack of system link on Xbox One! Imagine the following.

    Picture this...

You've packed the car with your Xbox and a flat panel monitor and headed out into the country for 4 days. A bunch of your mates have done the same thing, you've planned it for months. You arrive at the country house isolated from everyone, the rain is
drizzling down lightly as you unpack the car. You are in a good wine region, but you have packed a stack of beers and spirits for the days ahead. You set up your 8 or so consoles, there are cables everywhere. You settle in with the log fire warming the room,
a glass of red wine in hand and prepare to spend the next 4 days uninterrupted smashing your mates on MW3 and a bunch of other games. No girlfriends, no wives, just mates (OK that last bit sounds a little camp).

We have been doing this for years with the Xbox 360 and will continue to do so, but are ROYALLY disappointed that we cannot do this with the Xbox One. A game like Titanfall would be ideal for a LAN type set up. There is no internet where we are in the
country and even if it did, I doubt that having 8 people hooked into it would be feasible. This is just one scenario! What about all those guys in the army, who are out in the middle of nowhere and just want some R&R on their consoles... POOR FORM Microsoft..
    POOR FORM.

Titanfall would be good if it had any form of offline play. I wont be buying it again (traaded in 360 ver of the game for discount on a xbox one) until it gets much cheaper as its not enough of a game to warrant paying $60

OK I think its all clear to me now.

People who belong to counties with large populations and good internet infrastructure don't care about off line gaming because they don't have to put up, day in and day out, with substandard connection speeds.

For those of us who don't have that luxury, seeking the level playing field of LAN gaming IS important. Removing this functionality is a step backwards.

Most people don't go out to the country to play games or even hook up a lot of tech. They can do that stuff at home. ;)

I will add another note: When I (and my 20 fellow LANers) were deciding which of the next gen consoles were were going to purchase (XBox One or PS4) I can tell you straight up that we would have chosen whichever console had a system link type facility. As
it turns out, neither of them did. I find it curious that a company would decide to drop a feature that could potentially give them an edge over the competition in what is a fairly cut throat market. It's not like they had to plan and design it from scratch.

In the end I purchased an Xbox one because of some notion of loyalty. I don't feel that loyalty is being reciprocated.
