    Xbox one and series X controller


    My son recently broke his Xbox one controller and so after I checked it would work OK, I bought him an Xbox X controller.

    Plugged it in and it updated OK and everything was fine initially but now when he turns on the console it goes directly to the troubleshoot screen and the last couple of times he's just pressed continue and it then takes a couple of minutes but it then works.

    The thing is, it's taking longer each time and I reckon it'll just stop working until whatever the problem is, is fixed.

    Thing is, I don't know what the problem is and how to go about fixing it, and he really doesn't want to be doing a factory reset.

    Anyway any advice would be much appreciated.

    Did the xbox series controller works on xbox one fat?

    Xbox Series X|S controllers are fully compatible with the Xbox One, One S and One X. Also the Xbox One controllers work on the new Series consoles.

    The Xbox Series X controllers will work on Xbox One consoles, and the Xbox One controllers (including the Elite/Elite V2) will work on Xbox Series X too.

    Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X controllers work on Xbox Series X|S, and vice versa. However, Xbox 360 is on it's own, similar to the OG Xbox.

    What's cool however is if you remote stream Xbox One, One S, One X, Series S, or Series X on, say, a PC, you can plug in a 360 controller and use it on the newer generation.

    But no, newer controllers aren't supported on 360.
