  1. Xbox One and PC to LG OLED TV issue?

Hello?. My name is Rodrigo. And currently I am having 2 Small but real annoying issues with my LG OLED 4K & HDR TV..

To explain as best I can...

The 1st problem is that: When I just leave it there on.. The screen easily and quickly auto becomes fade into Dark.. Like if Screensaver was on.. However I had that Setting to off.. And yet it still does it.. This happens on my Xbox One X and PC..

The 2nd problem is that: When playing certain video games on Xbox One X that activates HDR.. The screen becomes Darker than Normal... And the only way to bright it back up to normal is by switching from Game Mode to Standard Mode in the settings... However,
Since it doesn't have Game Mode.. It feels of the look on the screen rather clunky.. Like weird.. But Game Mode is a Must when playing Video Games on TVs these days..

Now to ask everyone who probably owns a Vizio M Series or P Series 4K & HDR TV.. Do you have any similar problems like I have on my end?.. Does your Vizio TV easily fades dark when just leaving it there on with The Screensaver turn off?.. And when playing
certain video games on HDR.. Does your screen looks darker than Normal?.. Like much Darker that you can't see very well..

Please for those players that has the Vizio M Series or P Series TV.. Please reply as soon you can. Because I need to know if I have to return this LG OLED TV..

Thank you and I will keep an eye on this topic for any replies..

    :)

Xbox One and PC to LG OLED TV issue?

    Hi

Both issues 1 and 2 are the television causing this to occur and not the console.

With issue 1 what is happening is that the television is detecting that it has been displaying a static image for a prolonged period of time and to try to prevent/reduce the chance of screen damage occurring from displaying a static image it will dim the
display. My LG OLED does the same and I'm note sure if this can be disabled in the television menus.

With issue 2 and the HDR being darker in game mode than others if you carry out an internet search you will see it is common for this to happen on LG televisions when in HDR mode.

  5. Thank you for replying.. Yeah I am rather aware that it's not the console fault.. I been trying to message a couple of people here and there.. And so far they haven't reply.. So I was like, Why not and ask in my favorite system website?..

About Issue 1.. Umm.. This I do not know for sure.. Because my original TV which was a Vizio 1080p Full HD TV.. It did not cause this problem.. To be honest Lol.. That is why I asked everyone who has Vizio M Series or P Series TV if they got the similar issue
    like this TV..

About Issue 2.. I been trying to search up online.. Especially about the HDR problem.. So far myself on my end with Bing Internet Search.. I had not been able to see one... But thank you for confirming to me that there is common issue with the HDR Problem..

I got a question to you about Issue 1 and 2..

Since this LG OLED TV has these two issues.. Do you think Vizio has similar issues to these two issues of LG TV as well?... As far you are aware?

  7. Thank you for further replying and Helpful Links..

Hmm... I see.... Even if I gotten The Vizio M Series or P Series.. I probably would still get the same issue with Number 1 due to some screen protection.

And as for Number 2.. I just double checked and see if it work perfectly.. Umm.. It did bright up a bit but the standard mode still beats The Game Mode unfortunately..

I got a different question of some sort..

Is The Vizio M Series or P Series TV exact same or similar like the LG OLED TV?.. Like.... Umm.. Let's say This LG OLED TV Sharpness can have a Max of 50% Sharpness.. Does Vizio M Series or P Series TV have higher Number of Percent?..

Lastly.. Do you personally recommend Vizio M Series or P Series TV?.. Because at the moment.. I am currently rather un-happy with this LG OLED TV.. Like my brother told me.. I might had made a big mistake..

While I wait for you to reply.. I am going to go and attempt to double check the features and settings for The Vizio M Series TV..

Thank you again for further helping me out to clear up my questions and such..

  8. Xbox One and PC to LG OLED TV issue?

Hey gds1972?.. Umm... I forgot one more issue.. Another annoying as well.. Sometimes my Screen loses signal of my Xbox One X and unfortunate I have to disconnect & Reconnect the cable every time it does that or Full Restart the Xbox
One X which again.. It's not the System fault but it's one of the ways for the signal to recognize it again..

The Vizio televisions are not available in my country so I can't say how good they are but looking at the manufacturer website they look like they use LCD panels and these will not suffer from screen burn/image retention issues I mentioned in my last post.

As for what type of television is best for you if you are connecting a PC to the television for general use then in my opinion it may be possibly better to not use an OLED television for this.

When I purchased my OLED TV about a year ago I did lots of research and found that there was no such thing as the perfect television but I decided OLED best suited what I was looking for.

  10. Thank you again for another reply.

Ah no worries.. But thanks to you.. I think I believe for me.. Probably The Vizio M Series to start with would had been a better start with 4K & HDR for me anyways... I think I may know what to do now.. But I hope and pray that Best Buy can accept this TV
back.. I hope and I hope lol..

Yeah.. The PC runs rather normal.. Even my PC can run 4K & HDR believe it or not.. But I prefer to use it for watching Twitch or something like that when given the chances.. Plus I am using some kind a adapter of some sort where it allows me to connect my
PC to my Monitor and TV at the same time.. But it has to be forced to run HD due to my monitor not being 4K or HDR....

And Yeah.. I am rather aware that there is no such thing as the real perfect TV.. But I thought I might had like this LG OLED TV.. After now 3 months with it.. I finally got annoyed with it.. lol.. I will research a bit more on Vizio M Series and when it's
time.. I will try my best of my luck on that TV.

And clear up things a bit more.. The #1 Issue I was rather aware from the start when I got the TV.. But I thought maybe it would be fixed with an update or with some changes in the settings.. Oh boy, How much I was wrong..

And #2 Issue.. I was completely un-aware of... But I guess that is what I get for not researching for my suitable style..

Anyways man.. Thank you for your replies.. I think I got my questions clear up.. I just need to be double sure I research the Vizio M Series carefully..

Depending on your budget and if you can find them it may be also worth looking at the Sony X900E and X930E as they both have some very good reviews but they use an Android operating system that can take quite a bit of getting used to.

  12. Hey. I am sorry for not replying back.. Umm.. Well. At first I was looking forward to a Big and expensive TV that was not Vizio.. But I guess without Research and study about certain TVs.. It is how it is I suppose... I am not interested in Sony TV unfortunately,
and Samsung TV is expensive to be honest lol....

Right now I am attempting and putting a lot of time and focus into the study and research of this: VIZIO - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD Home Theater Display with High Dynamic Range TV.. It's a M Series style and according to the
information.. It's a XLED Plus.. Similar like LG OLED TV.. However Vizio hasn't failed me yet.. But I can't take the risk any longer.. Which is why I am going to study and carefully research this TV and go back to Vizio like it was meant to be lol..

  13. Xbox One and PC to LG OLED TV issue?

Oh one more thing if you don't mind gds1972?.. I am going to try and pose two links.. One is the for further detail on Vizio.com and the other is where I am planning to get the TV from..

On Vizio.com, When you got time.. And since probably you got more ideas or something like to compare from my problem in LG OLED TV.. I was wondering if you could take a look in this website and discover any major comparison or something like that.. Just
    in case man. =)

    VIZIO (Vizio.com)

    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-55-class-54-6-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-uhd-home-theater-display-with-high-dynamic-range/5762814.p?skuId=5762814

If one of the link doesn't work.. Try copy and paste to the search bar on top... If one of them doesn't work at all.. I will try and find a different way..

Earlier you mentioned the Vizio P series television when I look at the specs of the television I think on paper the P series looks a much better television to the M series in my opinion.

    1. The P series screen can be dimmed in 126 zones where the M series is only 32 zones (See this article for more info on how TV local dimming works) - More zones is better

    2. The P series has 5 HDMI sockets (4 of witch support HDMI version 2.0a) where the M series only has 4 HDMI sockets (1 of witch supports HDMI version 2.0a)

3 The speakers of the M series on paper are slightly more powerful than the P series

If possible I would speak to Best Buy and hopefully they have some sort of demo room setup where you can compare the two televisions side by side.

The web site below can provide some very useful information about television features in general and may be worth looking as they have tested both the M and P series Vizio.

  15. Thank you so much for your time and patience!.. Unfortunately I was unable to return this LG OLED TV because it has been about 2 months already so.. Bad Luck for me... As for me at this moment. I decided to disable HDR on my Xbox One to prevent it from activating
on this LG OLED TV.. That way I can least minimum enjoy my games at least on 4K UHD... And also normal brightness as well... Of course The HDR being disable is temporary.. I be waiting for a certain update on the LG OLED TV that hopefully fixes The HDR Problem
    with the screen rather dark..

Even though I am staying with this TV sadly.. Maybe who knows.. I might get used to this TV.. But I will still look into the information you provided.. Again Thank you for your replies and time... And to confirm to you.. Since I disable HDR on my Xbox One
X, It fixed Issue #2 and possible Issue #3.. The Number 3 was that sometimes I lose signal for unknown reasons... But of course. The Issue Number 1 still remains the same sadly.. I wonder if LG might release an update where can give the users the option to
whenever or not disable the Screen Protection..

One more thing to confirm to you.. I think if I am correct.. The Vizio P Series is currently not available at the stores of Best Buy near me. So If I want to get the P Series I must order it from Vizio Website... But I guess I will take a look a Vizio TVs again
after The 2018 Models start appearing.. Then I might decide from there.
