    Xbox one and PC Minecraft cross play


    Trying to play Minecraft with my daughter and unable to get cross play to work in either direction. I cant connect to her world and she can't connect to mine. I purchased a separate copy of the game for her account. I have rebooted everything multiple times.
    Nat type on the xbox one and xbox windows app is open on both. I have used the command prompt to tell the pc to use 60209 port. I have turned off my vpn and tried shutting off windows firewall. Pretty much tried every method I found on the internet. This
    could be related but I have also not been able to get the windows xbox app to connect to my xbox.

    Hey Ty. Few facts here for ya.

    1. Minecraft Xbox One version is NOT cross-play compatible. You will need to own Minecraft Bedrock as it is known as on the console to play with the Windows 10 version on PC.

    2. I have successfully signed into my PC and my Xbox One and played on the same map with my account on the two devices at the same time. So yes it does work.

    Playstation currently doesn't allow cross platform play with Xbox yet.

    As for playing against PC players, you will need a game that supports cross platform play.

    Examples for such games are:

    • Minecraft (the one without the "Xbox One Edition" in the name, and the Windows 10 Minecraft version. Java Minecraft on PC won't work).
    • The Forza games on PC like Forza 7, Forza Horizon 3
    • Sea of Thieves
    • Gears of War 4
    • State of Decay 2
    Most other games from other publishers (i.e. not Microsoft Game Studios) are probably unable to play cross platform. So you won't be able to play FIFA or Call of Duty with your PC friends.

    To play Minecraft on PC you'll have to buy the game for PC. It has cross-play but it's not a Play Anywhere game. The Xbox and PC versions are considered different.
