  1. Xbox One and Over the Air TV?

I'm thinking about picking up an Xbox One before the PS4. However the pass through capabilities are part of the draw at this point. We dropped cable/satellite almost 2 years ago to go with streaming services and OTA HD channels. Is there a way with the US
XB1 to use your OTA antenna for the pass through capabilities?

I noticed MS is putting out a $40 device in the UK so people can use the pass through for over the air. Wondering why not in the US? Is there already a way to make it work here? If not then when can we get it here in the U.S.?

    :)

Xbox One and Over the Air TV?

If you are able to find them (good luck) there are some threads in here talking about a few devices that take OTA signals and outputs to HDMI. Several users described these devices as working with xbox one. Not sure if there will be a US version of the UK/Europe
    device just announced.

just typed OTA devices with xbox one into google and got a lot of results.

  5. I hope so as it states that device would allow you to use the Xbox One as a type of DVR for Over the Air.

I doubt it will be a DVR that allows tv recording....more likely it just has the channel guide overlay for OTA channels much like for cable.. Though it does mention pausing, so maybe there is some sort of buffer in the device. But I wouldn't take that as
    full movie/show recording.

  7. Yeah, it only says pause. Which really is all I would expect. I searched and found one of the threads you were talking about. That device might be a better option to go with the Xbox One if the Xbox Channel guide and Kinect actually work with it correctly.

Sadly I think there's too many politics and too much back scratching in the U.S. that's going to prevent this from ever happening (though I certainly hope I'm wrong). MS isn't even willing to support their own software (Windows Media Center) on the Xbox
One at this point, so I wouldn't expect anything like what the UK is getting anytime soon. If anything, they seem to be doing everything they possibly can to bury anything similar here. I know MS sold their shares of Comcast about 5 years ago, but I'm pretty
sure there's still some handshakes going on under the table.

What you want to get is the Mediasonic Homeworx HW150PVR. This works great with the Xbox One as a way to get HD OTA channels through the One guide. Once it is set up correctly, it works well with voice commands and if you get a reasonably sized USB flash
drive,(at least 8 gig), you can record shows, pause, fast forward and rewind live TV! I picked mine up on Ebay for $40. Here is a video showing it properly set up and in operation. Check it out.
