XBOX One and Microsoft support failing customers

Ok, I am beginning this in the heat of frustration, but thought this was a better outlet than throwing my console outside into the snow.

Today I start my xbox one console up but only to be stopped at an "E200" Error code. Followed the xbox troubleshooting instructions.

    (1) reset console: No change.

    (2) perform offline update with USB flashdrive: completed this update, console restarted but back to the E200 screen.

    (3) last resort, do factory reset: Completed reset. But after the 'select language' screen is the networking screen. This is where I am entirely stuck. XBOX cannot see my ethernet-based connection, and instead reports this after running the checking connection
screen: "There's a Hardware Problem. Sorry, the wireless network hardware on this console isn't working. You'll need to send it in for repair. To do this, visit xbox.com/xboxone/repair".

I used the xbox service/online-chat to see if there was anything else that could be done. As friendly as the technician was, they could not offer any options beyond 'restarting the console'. So they looked into my console serial# to give me my warranty status,
and turns out my warranty expired 2 weeks ago. So now they expect me to pay $135 to send my xbox to be repaired!

I find this entirely unacceptable in such an expensive product, especially ever since I purchased this product last year (2015), it has sat in the same spot and has never been moved for any reason.

So Microsoft, if you can help me out and have interest in doing right by your customers, please contact me. However, if you believe your customers should bare the burden of your malfunctioning products, I firmly hope customers will come to their sense and
stop buying your products. This is eerily similar to the xbox 360 malfunctions faced when we all invested in that console.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    :)

  2. Broken Promises and guarantees

For Xbox claiming that "We take pride in creating lifelong engaged relationships with our customers by exhausting all resources in providing the utmost epic customer support."

    They are epically failing.

    I need help...pleeeeease!

Am not really a expert on this but if all else fails, contact customer support and they will most likely help you. Try referring to the instructions pamphlet also.

Sorry to hear. If you are ok with opening your hardware up, might have to purchase a new wifi/bluethooth card and install it yourself if you don't want to give Microsoft your business. The thing is it is clearly a product malfunction and is not isolated
to only a few units, as you can find many others online complaining (thus some of them trying to replace that wifi/BT card).

If you are under warranty perhaps you can give up your console for a month? I just can't see it being worth investing anymore into Microsoft video-gaming, if their service is going to be poor. One thing I can't understand, is WHY you would build a product
that requires internet connection when it should be able to function without it.

By the way, my problem (I have a good reason to believe anyway) is most likely that wifi/BT card is faulty. I was able to sneak past my issue so I could start up the console to the welcome screen. You have to know the location of the wifi/BT card (top of
console, in corner closest to where ethernet plugs in). Turns out this card may become unseated and will need a fresh re-seat. You might get lucky with some gentle taps... or even more aggressive taps (don't break it of course). I imagine I will have the issue
again, but for now I think it's enough that I am going to replace that module.

What junk...can't even use ethernet if that module fails. I've never even used the wifi on this unit, and it holds up the rest of the console from working when malfunctioning...

Sent unit in to Microsoft for repairs, they sent it back and said that nothing was wrong with it. Mine is wired connection. Gave up today and purchased a PlayStation 4. Will avoid Microsoft and Xbox from now on at all cost.

I am having the same exact problem!!
