    Xbox one and ipv6 please help me.. Newb

    I have Comcast internet and gave everything setup to be getting ipv6. How exactly do I know my xbox one is using ipv6 and can it use ipv6 before it uses v4 so it can just use v6 only. Thanks

    :)

    How to add IPv6 to my Xbox one?

    hey my Xbox one has been randomly disconnecting from the Xbox live servers during multiplayer games and has gotten extremely irritating. So I'm wondering if adding IPv6 will help solve my problem. If anyone knows how to fix my problem or add IPv6, please
    let me know.

    The purpose of ipv6 is to answer the problem of running out of ipv4 addresses.

    Only a very small percentage of the internet is using ipv6, it is nothing to worry about.

  6. I'm also using Comcast with native ipv6 and I didn't change anything with the xbox. When I check my router, I can definitely see that it's grabbing an ipv6 address as well as an ipv4, so I know it's working. However the settings on the xbox are pretty weak
    at this point, and it only shows the ipv4, so at this point I don't think there is a way to run it only on ipv6.... It's going to use both no matter what you do until Microsoft updates the menu....

    the main benefit for gamers will be they won't have to worry about NAT anymore, no more private networks, no more routing overhead, every connected device will have its very own IP address accessible from anywhere on the internet, which does have a number
    of benefits, but it is nothing to worry about yet because it is not widely used yet.

    There are still several MS services that aren't even using ipv6 yet.

    Please help me with IPv6 on XBOX ONE

    Hi deathpoolmetal, let's see if we can help.

    Is there any reason / concern that you need to use IPv6? Your Xbox will work fine on an IPv4 only network.

    Do you know if your router supports IPv6? The latest version does not require a router to be compatible for devices to communicate with each other internally (as they with give themselves an IPv6 address) but your router and internet service provider need
    to support it to work externally.

    If you want to post a screen shot of your network settings, we may be able to confirm this. Make sure you mask any external IP addresses.

    Hope that helps.
