Xbox One and HDD

So the new Xbox's HDD is held internally. My first issue with this was that i filled 26% of it within 6 hours of connecting it to the internet, which led me to looking into replacing the hard drive with a larger one, WITHOUT paying extra money for an external
one strictly because it has the microsoft logo on it. That's when i learned the hard drives are not replaceable. While i have read that the xbox one is supposed to "last for 10 years," my experience with technology has shown me that it's extremely rare for
a HDD to last for more than 2-4 years (depending on manufacturer, I have lost 3 hard drives in 5 years, yet a 10gb HDD from 1998 is still alive and kicking when im desperate).

So my questions:

Does anyone know who manufactured the HDD inside the Xbox One?

Has Microsoft taken any steps to ensure higher quality manufacturing and greater life expectancy of the HDD itself?

By saying it's non-replaceable, does that mean that you void the warranty should you need to replace it due to hardware failure, or does that mean the console can be banned for people repairing broken hardware themselves?

I ask these questions because microsoft sold me 4 360's that turned into paperweights with 3 built in blinky red lights and has more or less destroyed my faith in the quality of their hardware, I'm somewhat hesitant to keep the console now that I'm once again
fearing some sort of hardware failure...

I tried to wait more minutes, but i think at instant on is working 100% when i turn on the console. I check the router see the console when the consol is not see they have internet connection.

Or maybe the next update is help about my problem.

I tried to make a save about the HDD noise, but my iphone can't do that

The problem is if no data usage why working and make noise the HDD.

I heard the sound at 01:00 and i headr it at morning 7:30. I check tha data usage and it was nothing important.

Maybe i make a reset at the console OS and check after that again. :S

Hi there sometimes it takes a minute for the friends screen to pop up, that has nothing to do with wifi. As far as the hdd noise. What sound do you hear?

 

From the tear downs I could find most have been a Samsung Spinpoint 2.5" drive on a SATAII connection. There are always going to be faulty hard drives, but so far it seems they are using medium spec HDD's meant to last awhile. As far as quality it's going
to be whatever quality is standard in the industry. Over the last decade HDDs have had a lot changes to increase density and some companies did make drives that had issues from the new designs, but now MTBF is really high for anything made in the last couple
years.

Any external USB 3.0 storage drive larger than 256GB can be used with the system. Doesn't have to be Microsoft can be Seagate, Western Digital, regular internal drive in an external case. I would say this is the way to go if you want the internal drive operating
as little as possible and only handling the OS and certain Apps that will only run off the internal drive. I recently bought a WD 4TB external and I notice games load faster and since the game data isn't being pulled from the internal drive features of the
OS seems to run a bit quicker.

I know some people have already replaced the internal and voided their warranty so it can be done when your console is out of warranty should the drive fail. I can't say if there are anti system tampering features that will set off DRM and have the system
and account banned from Live.

 

Have been looking at buying an external hard drive for my xbox one as I am hearing a lot of people are having problems with their internal drives filling up. Had a quick look online, and with so many to choose from left me feeling lost.

Just wanting any advice/experience people have on particular brands and models.

Saw a good deal on a "Seagate Wireless Plus 2TB HDD" ???
