Xbox One and Battery Backup Fail

I have my XB1 along with my TV, receiver,Apple TV etc plugged into a battery backup UPS. When the power blinks for a moment, everything stays up except for the XB1. I'm assuming it's detecting a surge because I have to reset the power supply every time.
Is it supposed to do this even though the UPS should be maintaining the power?

^^ A battery backup might be overkill.... all you really need is a surge protector.

Question: If there is a Power Failure will we still get to play the Xbox One?

PC's have a backup power supply, usually a 6 cell Lion battery. It's going to need the AC power supply as M hasn't built an internal battery to power it

The Xbox One has been designed to be connected directly to a wall outlet and not connected to a UPS device, Surge protector or power strip. If you are receiving any voltage fluctuation from the UPS this may be enough to cause the your Xbox One to switch

Battery backups usually have a part that is battery only and one part that is battery + surge. If you plug it into the battery part it's okay and it's still protected.

All rechargeable batteries will eventually reach the end of their lifespan and fail to hold a charge. Time to replace them. The official XBox battery packs do seem to last longer than the third party ones.

I also found them to be an unwelcome addition to the game. If not for a backup save I would have failed one of them.
