    Xbox One and 7.1 sound issues


    I just got a onkyo HT-9400THX and i hooked everything up including my xbox one. When im playing battlefield i noticed it is not using my back right and left speakers, only my front left and right, surround left and right and sub woofer.I don't understand
    what is going on and why i cant get the back speaker to play. I have my audio setting set to 7.1 uncompressed. If someone please guide me to the right direction i would be very happyXbox One and 7.1 sound issues :)

    Xbox One and Sony HT ST9 Soundbar Issues

    Sound effects sound just fine but speech tracks don't work right. If I move the character around they seem to kick in a bit. It is almost like it's trying to do directional audio and failing. I'm not having any issues with my PS4 or Cable Box just XBOX One
    games. I've swapped my cable and even switch from wiring to the TV and out the ARC to wiring directly to the sound bar.

    I also tried swapping the Xbox One settings from 7.1 to 5.1 even though the HT ST9 is 7.1 compliant but still no success.

    Anyone else had issues with the HT ST9 and Xbox One?

    Getting 7.1 sound on a Samsung HT-F9730W 7.1-Channel HT system.

    I am having the same issue. I can only get 5.1 sound from the Xbox One. I have to use another port on my receiver to my Blue Ray player and PC. The only 7.1 sound I can get is PCM 7.1 not Dolby TrueHD 7.1.

    If I'm understanding you correctly you'll be using this headset on PC to play Xbox One games streamed from your Xbox One using the console companion? With the headset on PC it's a fake 7.1 anyway simulated by software, if the games don't have a mix for 7.1
    then no, it won't be able to do 7.1. You may get the surround sound mix it has but, again, it's simulated by the software for the headset.

    That would be quite a trick, wouldn't it? S/PDIF doesn't support UNcompressed 5.1/7.1 sound.

    I thought the same thing. But when I leave everything the same. Unplug my xbox one, take the same hdmi and plug it into a bluray player on the same input it sounds flawless. Woke up and still no buzz. Just wondering now if anyone has the issue of 5.1 and
    7.1 not coming out in 5.1 or 7.1?
