Xbox One advanced replacement (Optical Drive Error) -> US Import in Europe(Germany)

Hello,

i bought my One on Amazon.com because of in this time was the One not aviable.

I called with the German support, they said i can user the full warranty also in Germany with my import One without any payments.

Last week i started a call for a xbox-One replacement. All was fine - until the last step- i got an offer over 109€ .

They told me they will ask the department in england to replace my One without that costs. I am still waiting for a feedback

You live in Europe, you could just as easily import it from the UK, Germany, France. Probably cheaper too.

There is a EU las which says you have one year Warranty.

Please Call the Support for any questions and Tell them your ticketnumber.

They will give you further informations.

 

i talked with the german-Support-Hotline. They said they cant continoue my advance replacement without this costs.

They can't do no action and will wait until they will have answered the ticket. It feels like the english-advance-support isnt work on my tickets. i have had another ticket (poweradapter replacement) and waiting too (since 22.12.2013) -.-

looks like the ticketsystem didnt have the right process for the customer support - sad.

I don't have any good news for you. It seems, you have to pay the 109$ repair costs. I have found the Limitations on the Terms & Conditions an the amazon

I will tell it to you in German:

Die Herstellergarantie in den USA unterscheiden sich eindeutig von den europäischen Herstellergarantien.

So ist es beispielsweise möglich, dass in den USA gekaufte Geräte zwar einen garantieanspruch haben, aber halt nur, solange sie in den USA bearbeitet werden.

Für den Transport Deiner Xbox in die USA und zurück müsstest Du dann in jedem Fall aufkommen.

Du kannst nur auf die Kulanz von Microsoft hoffen.

Sorry, dass ich keine anders lautende Information für Dich habe.

P.S. Amazon ist übrigens komplett raus, da es so etwas wie Gewährleistungsansprüche anders als bei EU Händlern, bei US Händlern nicht gibt.

first i know it since they offer the costs for the replacement. I have had registered my Xbox One at xbox.com (german page) and i got the warranty-time to march 2016. The website didnt display any restrictions or additional informations.

I am very unhappy about this uncommon warranty restrictions. The german support told me they will try to avoid the costs and sent my support-ticket to the support in england.

Its looks like the german support is very helpless, because of they havent the possiblility to decide a ticket.

i had a similar problem with a DLSR Camera i buyed in from the UK with the delivering country Germany.

I had the full 1 year warranty for this product, but bound to the warranty limitations and the support in the country i have buyed it.

This means, i had to send it to the support in UK although a service exists in Germany.

You have ordered your X1 in the USA so the warraty limitations and terms & conditions from the USA are valid for you.
