Xbox One adapter won't install driver when plugged in

Hello. I'm on a 64 bit version of Windows 10, updated to the latest version. When I plug in my adapter, the installation takes a very long time(took no time at all on the other PC and worked flawlessly). Also, when it's done installing, the device will show
up in Device Manager as "Unknown Device". I tried installing the drivers manually and doing so, it will show up as "Xbox one adapter" in device manager, but still won't work. Any Ideas? Thank you in advance.

Xbox One controller Adapter Driver issue

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and when I plugged the adapter in for my Xbox One controller it did not properly install the driver. I went to manually install the driver but it said I need internet explorer and I permanently disabled it on my PC. I went
to do a chat with Xbox about it and they have not said anything in over 45min. Can someone get me the for my Xbox One controller Adapter on Windows 7 64bit?

Xbox one Console won't turn on"

Xbox one Console won't turn on. It just stopped turning on but it yellow light on the adapter when plugged in.

To add to this, here's what happens when i try to update manually to the latest driver version (21.50.45.656)

Also, wanted to mention that when I plug in the adapter, it isn't automatically recognized and does not install the drivers needed.

Summary: I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

Longer description: I installed fresh windows 10, downloaded and installed all win updates, then I tried all these steps and at the end controller started working.

1) plugged wireless adapter into USB windows 10 recognized it but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

2) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

3) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port started task manager removed Xbox one adapter, windows found it again but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

4) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port (front) started task manager removed Xbox one adapter and Xbox drivers, windows found it again installed it but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

5) FINALLY, I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

Plug your wireless adapter into your PC and press the button on the edge. Once you press the button, it will automatically install Xbox One controller drive. also could be the adapter giving
you issues.

I tried that and it didn't automatically install anything. The adapter isn't broken either, as it works with the xbox 360 controller. Is there a way I can manually install the correct Xbox one drivers so it can connect to the adapter?

I tried to update the driver there is no change.

I think there is a bug in windows 10 when you plug 2 Xbox wireless adapter on the same machine.

I can plug one adapter at a time without any issue

See if these steps help you, mate.

Try reinstalling the drivers in case they have partially installed. To do so, you need to uninstall the drivers. Follow these steps to complete this process:

Go to your Device Manager.

Locate Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows in the Network adapters section.

Click Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to bring up the Properties window.

Click on the Driver tab.

On the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button.

On the confirmation window, check Delete the driver software for this device.

Unplug the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and reboot your Windows 10 device. Once the device is back on, plug in the adapter.

If the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows still does not install, follow all of the above steps thoroughly one more time.
