Xbox One acting really weird

Have owned my Xbox One S for a couple months, always worked fine. Went to play one day and everything was super laggy and unresponsive; I couldn't even operate the guide without it freezing. When I tried to open any one of my games I got an "error: for some
reason game took too long to start (0x8027025a)" message.

I have: done a hard reset, cleared the cache, deleted any remaining local storage, done multiple factory resets and deleted and re-made my profiles, as well as tried different ones. Nothing has worked.

Does anyone have any insight into this? Open to anything.

Hey Jenkins thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Without sounding repetitive we suggest a reset of the console but make sure it is connected directly to the wall since as stated by our About the Xbox One power supply page that is recommended. Do a
>Soft
Factory Reset< (while keeping games and apps)
IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

There is a stable network connection.
The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Now if all else fails,

Request a Callbackfrom one of our Xbox Support Specialists so we can do a deeper scrub of the console and possibly looking into a repair. Hope this helps!

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused but rest assured we are here to help. Before going on with troubleshooting we need a bit of information, what is the console connected to power supply wise (wall outlet, surge protector)? Is there anything
connected to the console (external hard drives, controllers ect)? Let us know so we can best guide you to resolve this issue!

The console is connected to a power strip but I've tried connecting it to a regular wall outlet and it hasn't helped. There's nothing externally connected to the Xbox.

Thanks for the response.

I've already factory-reset the console a couple times. It hasn't changed anything. Side note: I do remember trying to play an Xbox 360 game a couple days ago and it asked me to download an update in order to play. The problems started occurring around that
time. Could that be a coincidence or no?

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the
Forums!

We normally suggest performing a
soft factory reset,
and this has worked before to resolve this error code. However, since that did not work, we would recommend the Full Factory reset since I know you mentioned doing a factory reset before. If this still does not work, then there may be an issue with the console
itself.

Side
Note: It is
very important to make sure you know the primary email/password to the account before removing
it from the console.

Your
saved data for those games is uploaded to the Xbox cloud. Once the account is downloaded back to the console, the saved data and licenses for those games will be recovered.
