Need to be online. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I've been away from online Xbox for about 5 months now and was wondering if Microsoft had finally gotten rid of the always online to earn achievements...     I've been away from online Xbox for about 5 months now and was wondering if Microsoft had finally gotten rid of the always online to earn achievements or if not why and are they playing too?

    Achievement Unlock/Sign On

    Is there going to be a different sound for when you unlock an achievement than when a friend signs online? That NEEDS to happen for the Xbox One.

    You can unlock them offline but you still need to sign in for them to be acknowledged and added to your account.

    The Wolf Among Us achievements not unlocking?

    The achievements issues yesterday were indeed a Live issue, though they should now be fixed.

    Some games you may need to start them in order to unlock the achievements, some will already have unlocked and if you open the Achievements app they will already be there and your Gamerscore total will have been bumped upwards, whereas I was being told that
    some achievements may take 48 hours after this outage to correctly appear on your profile.

    This has always been the case on Xbox One - achievements cannot be earned online. You can complete requirements for them offline but you need to go online for them to 'pop.'
