xbox one account settings

it wont let me buy any download able games on Xbox one it says i need to change my adult account settings on my normal account to buy stuff when i don't even have an adult account with it i ve put it so i don't have any barriers yet im still having this
one if anyone know about this or even better how to fix it plz reply to this thank u

First time use/setup

Hi. I've bought a day one edition for my boys a surprise for Xmas but not had a chance to test it yet. Because one of my lads already has a 360 in his room with his own gold account, I am going to set up the xbox One with his as the primary account fir the gold access as that way we can use the same gold account on his 360 and the shared Xbox one.

However, if I set the Xbox one up late one night presumably I will have to add the primary/gold account that it will use (I.e my son's) as part of the initial set up . Then I'll try it with one of the games. So by doing this, when he next uses his 360 will he see that his account had been used on an Xbox one? Obviously I don't want him to suspect there is an Xbox one in the house!!!

Can You Play Online With Any Gamertag If

on the XBOX One if you have one gold account set as primary console you can choose to share gold with the other accounts on the console.

You need to have a adult account to download most games. There is also a setting to turn off account purches regardless of what type off account you have

I would say that the second option is the problem you have. You need to turn this on its somewhere under the account settings / console settings. You have to have a play has I believe you have to go into 2 or 3 menus to get the option

The first Xbox One console that an account signs into, will automatically become that account's Home Console.

If the account then signs in on another Xbox One console, you'll have to MANUALLY set that console as that account's Home Console in the Settings under "Personalization".

So if you sign in with an account that already existed on any other Xbox One console and had the Home Console already set, you will NOT set that newly set up Xbox One as your account's Home Console.

So you can simply set up the console for Christmas day, and make the necessary Home Console settings later, so the kids can still play on the existing Home Console until Christmas.

Following a call the Xbox live support team the problem is solved.

Setting Account 1 to be the 'Xbox home account ' solved the issue.

Select, Settings, My Xbox One, Set as home Xbox.

The reason the account were configured in this way is Accounts 2 (my sons account) was the first I set up on Xmas morning and therefore defaulted to be the xbox home account (note to Microsoft Analysts)
