    Xbox One Account Balance


    I received a code for $100 for my Xbox live account. I tried to enter it into my Xbox one, but it wouldn't let me. After doing some research I learned you could do it through 360 and then it will transfer to Xbox one because it's all associated to my Microsoft
    account. However, the funds aren't transferring and I've spent a long time trying to do some some research to find out anymore info, but I am at a loss. Is anyone able to help me figure this out?

    How can I equip a gift card amount on the Xbox store ?

    You can't use a Microsoft account balance to purchase backwards compatible titles through the Xbox One or xbox.com. You have to purchase them on a Xbox 360 console using this balance.

    Probably a stupid question

    If you are purchasing Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One you have to use a credit card or Paypal. You cannot use a pre-existing balance on your Microsoft account. If you want to use that balance, then you need to purchase it on the Xbox 360 first.

    Sorry to hear it. Where did you purchase the code from and which country do you live in? If the currency was for a different country than where your gamertag is set for then you will not be able to use it until your gamertag is set to that region.

    You can check your currency amount at commerce.microsoft.com

    Any further questions should be directed to phone support though as this does seem to be a billing issue. 1-800-469-9269 in North America or click the link to arrange a call back.

    It's your Xbox Account Balance. Your balance follows you no matter where you take your account, whether it's on Xbox One, Xbox 360.. even Windows Phone.

    In order to use your account balance for Xbox or Xbox 360 games, you would need to make the purchase from a 360 console. The One store does not recognize the Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for that type of content.

    You can use your Microsoft account balance if you make the purchase from a 360. The One store has never been updated to work with Microsoft account balance for 360 or original Xbox game purchases.
