Xbox One - a total disappointment!

Is there any possible way to change the birthday on his account so he can use the games like he wants?

My son purchased an Xbox One (he has been saving up for a while) and now he can not even play online with friends for NBA2k19, Madden 18 or fortnite because we set up an account for him and he is only 12. Had we known ahead of time we would have lied about
his birthday (so much for being honest). What a disappointment. If I could return everything I would and look into a different gaming platform for my son. I have been in contact with support 2 different times and they keep telling me he needs an xbox gold
live membership to play. I believe this is false information due to his age on his account. What really sucks is we can't even create a new account and lie about the age because his NBA2k19 game was a code and that can only be used once. My third problem
is he redeemed his 14 day trial xbox gold membership on his account but support says they have no record of it and now the code can not be used again!

Xbox One total disappointment?

X1 is not a plug and play console. Spend an hour setting it up and calibrating it correctly and it is a great console but not completely polished yet. As for BF4, the game is broken on every platform. If it's a "total disappointment" why not just return
it? Me -- I can't wait to get my annual bonus so that I can buy another one.

I'm not at all fond of how every menu seems to behave like an app where you have to close current active programs and wait for the other app to load. The 360 was extremely fast for the simple tasks such as messaging your friends, checking achievements and
your active downloads. The software, albeit in its early stages, needs some rework. Playing CoD:Ghosts I wanted to message and add a player in game between intermission and it took so many steps to do just that; drop to the dashboard, launch friends app, message/add,
wait for sending, back to dashboard, load ghosts again, game's already started.

 

The date of birth on his account cannot be changed for any reason.

It is mainly EA games that block users under 13/14 from access to online play. Their terms of use operate outside of xbox live.

Xbox Live Gold Is required to play any game online.

If you set the console as your sons account HOME console. Any other account on that console will be able to play his games and share his paid gold member ship

It would require that he has Xbox Live Gold in order to play online. Since he is a minor you would have to approve his account to be able to do certain things online, primarily for his safety. The 14 day trial should be on the account unless it was somehow
redeemed to the wrong account. On a side note, this time of year is probably the best time to get a deal on gold such as $1 for a month.

 

Sorry, but that is not so simple,as It is a new Xbox and a new account, your son could creat a new account and use It as he wants before he gets many games with Xbox Live Gold or buy new games in his account
