Xbox One & 360 similar controller powering on console problems

I don't get why microsoft consoles (xbox one & xbox 360) always have problems with powering on consoles with controllers. It doesn't happen often but i just experienced pressing my controller to power on my X1 and no response with console turning on. It's
the first times its happened with my xbox one but I have had multiple issues owing a 360. I have a ps4 and never have had the issue one time. any thoughts or anyone know about this?

Can I use an Xbox 360 slim power brick on an Xbox One

So I have not upgraded to an Xbox One yet, but I found one on Ebay for 218 dollars. The reason it is so cheap is because it comes without a controller and the power brick. I can buy a controller no problem, but that leaves the power brick. From what I have seen online, the power brick for the Xbox One has similar jacks to the one on my Xbox 360 slim. I checked online to see if the power brick would work with the One, but I found no information on it. Do any of you happen to know if it works?

No. Why would you ever think that?

 

I've intermittently had this issue with the X1, maybe average once a month, but don't recall ever having this issue with the 360. Hard to say what the issue is that causing it.

 

i was reading something where when xbox releases updates sometimes you can experience this when turning back on your console for the first time. don't know though

 

That makes sense, but didn't they say that if you have your X1 in "instant on" mode, that it would automatically reboot and go back into instant on? Unless maybe it's a bug that it updates and doesn't go back into instant on.

For me it doesn't happen often enough to frustrate me, and for now I'm just considering a bug that I hope will be fixed in time.

If your system is set to instant on, when there is a system update you always need to power the system on from the console itself

Yep every time there is an update, you gotta walk your tail to the console itself to turn it on, then your controller and kinect will turn it on after it's been installed.

 

wonder if this is the exact reason I had to do this. I had my xbox on instant on last night

 

This was what I read, after the April update the X1 "should" have started doing updates when the console turned off, and then do a silent reboot to return it to instant on.

so when the console does a system update when the X1 is on "instant on" the first time you go back to power on the console you have to manually hit the console button correct? the controller won't power the console on the first time after the update?
