Xbox one (360) emulation messages through 360 error.

So I'm playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 through backwards compatibility on my One, so I'm using the legacy menus. I want to message this guy I'm playing with but every time I try to send him a message through the 360 menu, it says "Can't complete this process.
Please try again. For more info, visit www.Xbox.com/support." Is there any way I can text him? I unfortunately can't do parties due to not having a compatible headset so messaging him is the only way to communicate.

Original Xbox 360 E74 error message- Solution

If your Xbox 360 has failed because of the E74 error, you’ll see the following message on the screen when you turn on your Original Xbox 360 console:

System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.
E74

If you see this error message, you must repair your console. The warranty period for the E74 error is three years from the original purchase date of the console. If the warranty period expires, you’ll have to pay for the repair.

as far as I know you should be able to message him via the Xbox One message option too, I think the message spans both consoles.

That is very helpful actually I didn't realise that buying some DLC is not possible though Xbox 360 emulation on the Xbox One. With this is mind, if I were to buy the DLC content on a standalone Xbox 360, would I be able to play the DLC (bought on the
Xbox 360) through Xbox 360 emulation on the Xbox One?

Is it giving you any sort of error message when you try and download the profile?

Are you downloading the profile on the 360 emulator or on the One side of things?

Because it's played through the 360 emulator on Xbox One it would follow the same rules as the Xbox 360. The person who purchased the content can play it but that does not extend to the other users on the console.

Thanks for reaching out to us! If you are logged into the same profile that initially purchased the game and have gone through the

troubleshooting steps in relation to that error code, then the next step I would try is to re-download your profile while in the 360 emulator on your Xbox One. Sometimes this helps out!

To bring up the 360 emulator, launch any 360 game from your Xbox One, then when you see the Xbox 360 loading screen press the View and Menu buttons (the tiny buttons in the middle of your controller) at the same time. This should bring up the 360 dashboard
for you to view. From there you should be able to
remove and then re-download your profile in the emulator.
