When did they confirm this?

It's something a lot of people want on the xbox one but I don't ever remember it being confirmed that it was going to happen.

It only depends wether the publisher allows the game to BC. If does you will be able to play with both. The Xbox One BC is a full Xbox 360 emulator. It won't matter if you're on a Xbox One or a 360. As far as the game is concered it will think it's running
on a 360.

The are multiple games that are like this. Usually if there is an Xbox One version and a Xbox 360 version of a game then the 360 version will not be backwards compatible.

It really up to the developer on what games get approved for the BC List. They probably want you to purchase the Xbox one version of the game instead of putting the 360 version on the BC List.

Keep in mind that the gameplay might be the same, but the Code will be a little different. Similar in the way that a PS4 game won't work on a Xbox one.

In order for MS to get 360 games to be BC on the Xbox one they have to create a virtual instance of a 360 that will run that game. The virtual 360 is actually running the 360 version of that Game and not the Xbox one version.

I agree with the OP the Xbox One should be BC with 360 games, make it so Microsoft. After all if you can do a 180 on unpopular things in the Xbox One you can certainly make it BC with 360 games.

There hasnt been any bc update for the 360 in years

They stopped it in back in 2013

Any update now for the 360 has nothing to do with bc

Its more for live connectivity and 360 features
