    Xbox One 3.5mm Jack Not Working


    I recently joined the preview program about three days ago and while I was in the process of joining my controller stopped recognizing my headset. I have the 3.5mm jack version and it doesn't recognize any headset that I plug into it. Could this be because
    I'm in the preview or do I need to have my controller serviced.

    3.5mm jack not working

    I bought a brand new Xbox one X less than a week ago. Not used or refurbished. Brand new. Along with a brand new controller. I also have a brand new 150$ headset that's compatible with the one x. It has a 3.5mm jack. Both controllers won't register that
    anything is plugged into the 3.5 mm jack. I mad early sure that the firmware was up to date which they are. I bought the chat adapter which allows them to work, burn i hate it because my chat always echoes and everyone I play with hates it. Any fix for this?

    YOu can also try updating your controller again. Is the headset the factory microsoft style, stereo or something else like Turtle Beach or Triton?

    Headphones nor chat are working

    The controller just has the 3.5mm jack the XBox One S did not come with the stero headset controller...just plugging into the 3.5mm jack worked for a few weeks right out of the box

    Hi there Horito,

    Thanks for the reply. I was able to take a look into some resources. If you are using an Xbox One Controller, you will need the following components:

    • Xbox One headset adapter
    • 3.5mm CTIA Splitter cable (3 lines on the jack)
    • 3.5mm jack to jack auxiliary cable ( 2 lines on the jack)
    You will need to connect the Xbox One headset adapter to the Xbox One Controller. Then the 3.5mm CTIA Splitter cable (3 lines on the jack) connects into the adapter. The splitter cable will be identified as headset and mic. The 3.5mm jack to jack auxiliary
    cable ( 2 lines on the jack) will be used in the mic cord to the Yeti Mic.

    Are you talking about a USB based one or a 3.5mm jack head phone

    If USB based then it has to be xbox compatible from your description it's a computer based usb one as headphone jacks donr need to be recognized and only made for xbox headphones work with the console either with port or syncing

    If 3.5mm jack when try inserting the jack

    Should.be noted if the jack wire is flayed you will have aloe of problems

    USB headsets do not work with Xbox One. The only ones that will work are ones that use a 3.5mm jack with the controller or one of their (Xbox) certified headsets.
