XBox One 2 channel sound problem

    Hi,

I have a 5 channel audio system and when streaming from xbox's spotify (for example) i can't get correct 2 channel audio. There comes some sound from surround and center speaker. Only if i turn settings from xbox from 5.1 uncompressed to the 2 channel uncompressed
i can get true stereo sound. Other way is to use av-receiver settings to convert 5.1 audio to the stereo sound. There is also obvious drop of treble when xbox one 2 channel uncompressed is in use. Bitstrem setting from xbox converting audio to dts or dolby
digital (depending settings) and problem is the same: with a 2 channel source there is all 5 channel somehow active. Seems like xbox has a serious problem to get audio encoding on xbox work properly. Help, anyone?

    -AL

    :)

Spotify app playback problem on 5.1 av-system

    Hi,

There is problem with Spotify playback when using 5.1 setting on Xbox configuration. I have a 5.1 channel av system connected to the Xbox One via HDMI and some how Spotify stream (it's stereo sound) is encoded so that sound is heard all surround
channels too (but lower volume than main channels). When i choose 2 channel uncompressed setting from Xbox configuration the sound is now true 2 channel but higher frequencies is obviously damped (compared with same song on analog source). I tried with an
Groove app (service discontinued) for some earlier purchased offline music (.mp3?) and it working correctly and play pure stereo sound from main speakers with 5.1 settings. Is the problem in Xbox encoding algorythm or on the Spotify app?

    Outputting Stereo for Stereo Content

Below is a bug report / feature request for the Xbox One Software Team. Does anybody else concur with this suggestion?

Summary: Xbox One Doesn’t Send Stereo Sound

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Connect Xbox One to a 7.1 surround sound receiver via HDMI (such as Sony STR-DH520)
    2. Set audio output to Uncompressed 7.1 in Xbox One’s settings
    3. Launch any video app
    4. Play a video that only contains 2-channel, stereo audio (as opposed to, for instance, 5.1 audio).
    Expected Results:

The Xbox One sends stereo sound (2 channels) to the receiver. Because 2 channels are being input, the sound can be processed by the receiver using a processor such as Dolby Pro Logic IIx. This results in, among other things, the center channel speaker
    outputting sound.

    Actual Results:

The Xbox One sends uncompressed 7.1 sound (7.1 channels) to the receiver. The receiver plays all sound being sent through all speakers (in this case, only the left and right speakers will actually output sound).

Because 7.1 channels are being sent, the receiver CANNOT utilize a sound processor such as Dolby Pro Logic IIx. This results in, among other things, the center channel speaker NOT outputting sound.

    No Audio with Netflix

I have the same problem. I have a Pioneer receiver with 4 HDMI inputs. If the Netfix video has Dolby 5.1 audio, then I get sound. If it only has a stereo audio track, then no sound. If the video has both tracks, then only the 5.1 track has sound. I
went into the system settings for my Xbox, and changed the digital audio settings. Stereo does not produce any sound on the Xbox. The two 5.1 settings do produce sound on the Xbox.

It looks like the Xbox will not produce plan 2 channel stereo out of the HDMI cable.

I hooked up the adapter on the Xbox that has the optical out cable. If I connect the Xbox to the Pioneer receiver with HDMI for the video and the optical cable for the audio, then I get sound for 5.1 and 2 channel stereo. This is not the best workaround,
but it does work for my receiver and TV combination.

Sound set up via HDMI wires

I have 3 hdmi ports on back of receiver 1) Monitor Out; 2) Video 2 in; 3) DVD in

    When i set:

TV to Receiver into Monitor Out

Xbox to Receiver into Video 2 IN

If I switch TV on source "TV" , and then switch to Receiver Channel Video 1, there is sound through speakers for TV.

But when I switch HDMI1 on TV and keep the same Receiver Channel Video 1, there is visual for Xbox, but no sound..

    What did i do wrong?

Stereo headset adapter to use with my xbox one and turtle beach x12

Sorry, posted the incorrect link, original was to search results. Here is the correct link to the type of adapter, to avoid any confusion should the results change.

    www.ebay.com/.../271305717850

Also if his problem is having a headset with 2 separate 3.5 mm plugs for the mic and speakers, the problem doesn't really lie in the xbox one headset adapter. It is made to take a single plug with combined mic/speaker channels like the old 360 headset and
    many hands free headsets use.

To resolve that, he would just need an adapter like the one above to combine the 2 plugs into a single channel. I'm guessing by the way he described it, he has a PC headset that uses separate channels for a sound card.

SKY TV Via the XBOX ONE... What features

I have real problems with the sound on Xbox One when I'm watching Sky through it - if I change channel too quickly the sound just goes, and I have to switch off the Xbox and the Sky box and turn them on again. Sometimes the Xbox One doesn't give a tv picture
as well, been better since the 50Hz update but still happens on occasion.
